I visited my buddy, Rick, this evening after work. I've been trying to catch him for a week or two, only to leave phone messages that haven't gotten a response. I figured it was worth a try, and simply dropped by. He was awake and up, and visiting with his friend, Mary Lou--another nurse. Anyway, it was a sweet visit. We discussed lots of things, including several aspects of the process he's amidst (dying). And he gave me a few things of his--an eagle sketch for Steph, a set of prayer beads we made for him (one of two)--made of citrine and something deep purple, and a lovely little glass blown egg, made from Mt St. Helens' ash.
eventually, he got tired and I headed home, got home, and sobbed a bit. He's 53. I'm gonna miss him. I'm glad, for him, that he's getting to cross over to the next World. And...as I mentioned, I'll miss him.
it's late. so I'll sign off.
