This is either remarkable or terrifying.  Regardless... visitors!  I have questions, if you would be so kind as to answer them.  It's for a good cause, really.

Now, how did you find your way into the City?  How do you plan on getting out?

Some of you appear to have a great deal of knowledge about the way the City works.  Care to share that ( Read more... )

clock, nosy, science!, might have a fangirl somewhere, i love my job, fourth wall, city, deities, curses

[Here, have a viera. Just sort of... wandering past, as she does.]

And a good day to you.

Ah... you've just arrived, then?

I'm afraid I'm not entirely sure how I got here. But I believe I will be leaving before very long.

Allow me to introduce myself, I'm Dr. John Watson.

A pleasure to meet you, Dr. Watson. I'm Carl, and I'm reasonably sure I won't be going anywhere. As a rule, it's rather difficult to leave this city once you've found your way in.

In fact, I believe a friend of mine to be trapped here. Do you know anyone by the name of Sherlock Holmes?

I do, actually. I don't know where he lives, precisely, but he's certainly about.

But of course! You never know when valuable information might show up.

Thank you--heaven knows I need it. No one seems eager to talk.

Person! Who I... don't recognize. Have we met, or are you one of the many young ladies running about with an overwhelming amount of knowledge about all of us in your head?

It's a pleasure, regardless!

I am definitely a young lady running about with an overwhelming amount of knowledge about all of you in my head.

Would you care to share any of your bountiful knowledge?

CARL~! Hello.

Ways in and out are classified information. Or more honestly, I have no idea.

I'm not entirely certain of the clock's destruction bringing about the end of the world, but then again, I could be wrong. We can see all of the network posts, and sometimes what you guys do and say outside of those. As far as curses, you'll have to be more specific~! But there are definitely those that repeat.

Why, hello! It's a pleasure to meet you, of course.

Oh? Well, I can't expect anyone to have all of the answers.

By 'we,' do you mean the overly-informed visitors like yourself? That's rather spectacular--limited omnipotence! It is, though, somewhat unnerving to know that we have watchers. Not surprising, given the nature of the City, but unsettling.

Yes, curses! Ah. Do you know if there's any way to avoid curses? Are the curses determined by the deities, or by a greater power?

The same! I'm B/k, by the way.

We does refer to all us newbies, yes. And I can imagine it being unsettling, but at least you get to find out about it now!

Oh, there isn't a way for you to avoid the curses. At all. As far as the nature of the curses . . . we do have some say in them, and yes I'm referring to all us visitors again, but ultimately it goes based on the deities' muns and their decisions.

That's a rather unusual name!

Oh, yes--now I have to wonder how similar you are to the deities.

No? Ah. Well. I won't lie and claim to understand what you're saying, but you've certainly given me something to consider. Really, it isn't so difficult to imagine a world full of powerful entities--you and others like you, of course--serving as spectators and possibly influencing events as you please.

Might I ask, though... would you mind influencing events in my favour? I haven't been killed, maimed, or otherwise horribly inconvenienced as of yet, and I'd like to keep it that way.
