Maybe it was nostalgia that has pushed Desmond to jog in the village instead of the city as per usual, taking the long route around before he finally slowed down in front of the same church he had climbed the first night he arrived in this world, almost a year ago now. As he came up a little way behind the young woman, his stomach made a strange flip: same height, dark hair. Was Tifa back from the dead? If so, a lot of people were going to be relieved and happy to see her, Desmond included. The patrons at the club missed their favorite female bartender after all.
Unable to stop himself, the novice took quick stride, reaching out to the young woman, his mouth opening to call out her name. But as he came to the same level, catching sight of her face, Desmond froze: while beautiful, the young woman wasn't the one he thought she was. Struck by surprise, he stayed unmoving for a moment, before blinking and dropping his hand.
Diana looked up when she heard someone approaching. It was a relief to actually hear because the quiet village was starting to unnerve her. Not that she didn't mind quiet sometimes, but there was a limit when you were in a strange place with no idea what you were in for.
If she noticed his strange approach, she did not comment on it except to raise an eyebrow. She was used to being recognized by strangers, but he looked at her in almost a familiar way...not like how fans or civilians would typically approach her. Still, this place was weird enough without getting into all of that. She was curious and since he didn't appear to be a threat she would set it aside for the moment.
Of course, it did make more sense when he actually spoke to her. "Oh?" There wasn't a lot she could say to that, was there? "I'm sorry if I got your hopes up. My name is Diana...were you looking for this person, perhaps I could help?"
The young man shook his head: "It's okay. And thanks, but she's not really missing." Desmond was about to add that he was waiting to see if his friend would come back from the dead or be sent back to her world, but before he did so, he gave the amazon a look over. It went without saying that her outfit was not something any of the resident of Somarium would wear, nor would someone used to live here after being 'kidnapped' from their world. It was the start of the month again and while the last moon cycle hadn't sent new arrivals, nothing indicated that the population wouldn't rise up again this time.
Tilting his head, he offered Diana a small smile: "Have you been here long?"
Diana was curious about why he seemed so excited to see this other person and yet they weren't missing. However, she didn't really feel like it was her place to say so. After all, she was still confused as to where she was and what was going on. If he said the woman he was looking for wasn't missing then why worry about it?
She shook her head at his question, "I'm afraid I just got here a few minutes ago." She paused and added, "Where ever here is."
Steve had been out riding his motorcycle when he passed the church. He noticed the woman stirring there, and couldn't help but be concerned. He pulled his bike over, parking and pulling off his helmet. He just watched for a moment, before he finally got off his bike, placing his helmet on it and making his way over to the female.
As he got closer, the first thing he really noticed was her outfit. The red, white, and blue theme made him curious, but...the lack of it. He had been trying to get used to the strange styles of this weird modern time, but that? He suddenly felt incredibly awkward. Surely she was cold, though. Should he offer her his jacket...?
"Um, hey. Is...everything...alright?" He finally asked, coughing a bit awkwardly.
The motorcycle whizzing by immediately caught Diana's attention. She rose and was about to take off after it, actually hovering a few feet off the ground, when it suddenly pulled to a stop and the biker got off. Diana dropped back to the ground, knowing he had to have seen her if he'd stopped and was now getting off

Her reaction confuses Steve. It was almost as though she thought she knew him, but realized she was wrong. Of course, he understood that. He had done the same thing when he first got here.
"I'm sorry to tell you, but you're in a place called Somarium now. It's a dream world. So it's like your dreams took you to another world sort of thing. I know, it sounds impossible, but it's the truth." He gave a soft grin, knowing this probably sounded insane. It still confused him. "It's not really alien. But people show up here from all different worlds and all different times."
A brief flicker of concern crossed her features. She remembered a case file from the League back in their early days when John Dee aka Doctor Destiny had trapped several members in endless dreams (or perhaps nightmares would be a better term). She couldn't help but briefly wonder if this was the case here, at least until she thought about it for a moment and realized it wasn't quite matching up with how Flash and the others had described their experiences in the report. No, this was something else involving dreams, so while it wasn't Dee it was still troubling

Tsubomi had been looking around lately, armed with a map and Chypre on her head. So engrossed as she was moving around the church, she almost ran right into Diana.
Diana was still fully engrossed in her surroundings, so the girl's sudden appearance was a little startling. She didn't stumble, but she did take a step back before smiling down at the younger girl, "It's all right. Are you also lost?"
She glanced at the map in the girl's hand, that would certainly come in handy. Although, if they were both lost, she would certainly not want to take away her means of navigation.
"Oh no, I'm exploring actually," admitted Tsubomi, smiling up at the taller woman. Oh my she was very heroic looking with that kind of outfit. Clearly Tsubomi hadn't heard of superheroes before Precure after all.
Exploring. Well, that certainly explained the map then. "Have you explored much. I'm new so any pointers would be appreciated."
She was lucky she'd been trying to study more of man's world customs while acting as diploma because it allowed her to recognize the bow for what it was: a greeting. She returned the bow and when she straightened up added, "I'm Diana. It is a pleasure to meet you as well."
