Maybe it was nostalgia that has pushed Desmond to jog in the village instead of the city as per usual, taking the long route around before he finally slowed down in front of the same church he had climbed the first night he arrived in this world, almost a year ago now. As he came up a little way behind the young woman, his stomach made a strange flip: same height, dark hair. Was Tifa back from the dead? If so, a lot of people were going to be relieved and happy to see her, Desmond included. The patrons at the club missed their favorite female bartender after all.
Unable to stop himself, the novice took quick stride, reaching out to the young woman, his mouth opening to call out her name. But as he came to the same level, catching sight of her face, Desmond froze: while beautiful, the young woman wasn't the one he thought she was. Struck by surprise, he stayed unmoving for a moment, before blinking and dropping his hand.
Diana looked up when she heard someone approaching. It was a relief to actually hear because the quiet village was starting to unnerve her. Not that she didn't mind quiet sometimes, but there was a limit when you were in a strange place with no idea what you were in for.
If she noticed his strange approach, she did not comment on it except to raise an eyebrow. She was used to being recognized by strangers, but he looked at her in almost a familiar way...not like how fans or civilians would typically approach her. Still, this place was weird enough without getting into all of that. She was curious and since he didn't appear to be a threat she would set it aside for the moment.
Of course, it did make more sense when he actually spoke to her. "Oh?" There wasn't a lot she could say to that, was there? "I'm sorry if I got your hopes up. My name is Diana...were you looking for this person, perhaps I could help?"
The young man shook his head: "It's okay. And thanks, but she's not really missing." Desmond was about to add that he was waiting to see if his friend would come back from the dead or be sent back to her world, but before he did so, he gave the amazon a look over. It went without saying that her outfit was not something any of the resident of Somarium would wear, nor would someone used to live here after being 'kidnapped' from their world. It was the start of the month again and while the last moon cycle hadn't sent new arrivals, nothing indicated that the population wouldn't rise up again this time.
Tilting his head, he offered Diana a small smile: "Have you been here long?"
Diana was curious about why he seemed so excited to see this other person and yet they weren't missing. However, she didn't really feel like it was her place to say so. After all, she was still confused as to where she was and what was going on. If he said the woman he was looking for wasn't missing then why worry about it?
She shook her head at his question, "I'm afraid I just got here a few minutes ago." She paused and added, "Where ever here is."
I am so sorry this is so late ;_;failssassinOctober 18 2011, 02:45:39 UTC
There was a small, almost sad smile on the young man's face as the Amazon admitted to her fresh arrival.
"Here is called Somarium. The best way to describe it is a very real, very long dream you're having. There's a lot of people like you and me who have been taken from their world to be placed here. There's no known way to leave this place, but some do return to their world from time to time."
Desmond knew all too well how this was hard to take in information and he watched closely the young woman's reaction, ready to answer any questions she might have.

Diana listened intently has he gave a brief summary of the situation. Well, that made some sense in a crazy messed up sort of way. Diana hated to admit it but she was almost used to situations like this. Granted, she'd never been abducted and woken up in a strange place before, but even in her life there had to be a first time for everything. So this world wasn't her reality, but it was still real. Not only that but it sounded like multiple dimensions were involved as well. She'd have to sit down and sort it all out later, for the moment she'd just take a deep breath and deal with the immediate concerns.
"Is there any indication who or what might be behind it?" She'd have to start figuring this stuff out somewhere. It couldn't all just be by chance...could it?
The young man shook his head: "No, not that I know of. Until recently, we all thought it was the Overlord's fault, but she revealed a few wewks ago that she has nothing to do with our abduction. It seems to be somewhat 'normal' for this world to have visitors from other worlds."
Desmond reached in his back pocket for his Dreamberry and pulled it out: "You should have arrived with something like this on you. It can change to anything you want to make it more practical. It's called a Dreamberry and it'll let you communicate with anyone else in this world. It also has a lot more of information about this place, if you like to read" the young man offered as he showed Diana where to pull out the world's records"There's a catch about this though. The Dreamberries have a tendency to record dreams you might have and show it to the rest of us. And since this last month or so, if you're not careful enough, you can be pulled in some dream you might watch on the network." Luckily for Desmond, except for that nightmare about the end of
