Back home, and in the throes of good old con lurgy, as was to be expected. I'm not sure if I'm up for the most detailed of con reoprts, but here goes...

The Jaffar prompt was from me! :-)

I think I've read most of your Thief of Bagdad fic and I love it a lot. And I'm curently reading your delicious Barringcest and loving it - so many of my favourite kinks!

I've also started writing another fic for 'A Woman's Face' - I'm about 800 words in with no idea how much I'll end up with. The only notes I have so far about where I want to go with it is the evocative sentence: 'he's literally a fairy.' Should be fun figuring out what comes out of that!

Thanks for the bag; it was helpful. I am actually disabled and ill as fuck with about half a dozen overlapping conditions that drain the fuck out of me. It's just that Redemption's literally the only time I get out of the house, so I just mask all the tiredness with makeup and tarty clothes and booze and lots of noise. A lot of the speediness you saw was a direct result of defying the illness and generally being so tired I was almost hallucinating at times even before alcohol entered the picture. So, yeah, a lot of it doesn't show in those situations, but Redemption is different. And like I said, it's one of those few places where I can actually be myself (although even then there's more to me than the loud crazy wench). But I have to say right here that I'm not actually up to talking about it much or anyone asking me if there wasn't this thing or that thing I could do about it because that's tiring as hell, too, so please don't ask/suggest anything of the sort because even typing this is exhausting! (PTSD happens to be one of those ( ... )

No worries, I won't push for information, or offer advice, or anything like that

Best of luck.

Aaawww it saddens me you were ill part of the con :( I really want to go back in time and punch the hotel fuckers, for real! Or at least yell at them, idk, something.

But at least you had fun! I loved hearing how all the Connie things went, and I'm so glad you forced Torsten into people and they loved it because DAMMIT A WOMAN'S FACE IS ONE OF THE BEST FILMS I HAVE EVER WATCHED AND I'LL NEVER STOP GUSHING ABOUT IT.

And that fic panel you mentioned about writing sex sounded so fucking interesting! Where is my TARDIS again? I loved that thought of inserting some emotional stuff each two lines of sex, I won't deny I love PWPs full of steamy porn, but the best and hottest scenes are ALWAYS the ones with character stuff or some introspection throwed in, because they really give you insight of what's happening inside the characters minds, not just their genitals.

And IDK, in general I loved reading this post! Too much stuff to point out, I'm just happy you had fun <3

*SQUISH* I really wish you had been there, because we needed more people at the Connie things! AWF got nearly a full room, though, so that was good. And people seemed to like it. It really is a fantastic film and I will never be able to shut up about it either. Also, TORSTEN BARRING.

You totally need to come to the one in 2017. <3 ( ... )

Glad to hear you had some good times and a pox on all those who caused the unhappy times.

*HUGS* Hope we will find some way of dragging you over for the next one. Was thinking of you. (ETA: Sarah and I were randomly quoting Nimon at some point and I really wish you'd been there!)

Pub Quiz: Team Evil Genius did indeed win. By a nice margin. With 33 points out of 40 ish.

Also my notes do have in the margins "Snowgrouse Dress: Yowza"
so those were some good dresses.
:-)

I'm sorry I didn't get to any of the Conrad Veidt track. I know he's interesting from college but learned more from panels you were on. You were very articulate about him.

Oooh, that's fantastic to hear! I had to leave halfway for an item I was on, but would've loved to have stayed otherwise. I also love how Smurf accidentally said the word "cleavage" when he meant to say something else because he was too distracted by my red dress. That was a very happy moment for someone who can only ever wear that stuff once every two years... and I am very pleased to hear about your YOWZAing as well :D The more ill I get, the more of an effort I make with the tarting up exactly because of it.

I wrote a summary of why Connie was awesome here--I just gave a slightly more expanded version at my talk. And it's so funny you and blazingskies should call me articulate, when I felt I was everything but! More like me just foaming at the mouth and flailing. "Did I mention he was a Nazi-pwning bisexual transvestite horror legend and also a dominant sex panther in the talkies? Unf..." Glad at least some of my rambles were enlightening.
