In a recent tumblr post, eidheann_writes mentioned that duplicate titles of fanfics are quite common, so when reccing a fic you really need to give the author's name and not just the title. In case you didn't know, we have started a new crowd-sourcing project! This time we are gathering data on all fics posted to hd-smoochfest from 2009-2014. A poll to see how best to label fics: top, bottom, or switching?

We are so close to having completed our hd-fan-fair spreadsheet with all of the information on who tops in each fic! As of today, we are only missing information on 12 fics rated R or NC-17.

Yesterday I was having a discussion with Vaysh about who tops more in fanfic, Draco or Harry ( link here). I was of the opinion that it seemed fairly balanced, but that was from my perspective of mostly reading recent fic. I'm interested in seeing how the popularity in HD fanfic has changed over time, and I thought one way to do that would be to look at how many fics get posted to fests each year.

I did a count for 2014 a couple of months ago, but before I can count how many fics were posted in 2013, 2012, etc. I need to know how many fests there were each of those ( Read more... )
