Over and Done With
It’s too late for that now.
Jaejoong’s words had left Yunho winded. His fingers around Jaejoong’s wrists nearly lost its strength, but he kept his hold firm as he shrugged the hurt away. "You don't mean that," he retorted, looking Jaejoong straight in the eyes. "Let’s talk when you're sober."
"There’s nothing to talk about.” Jaejoong struggled out of Yunho’s grip, but instead he was shoved closer into the other’s chest. His eyes widened, panicking at how close Yunho’s face was that he could make out the lines and the bags under his eyes. Yunho looked like he hadn’t been sleeping.
“Guys! are you in there?” Yoochun knocked, the knob jiggling as he called from the door.
“Go wait in the car!” Yunho yelled.
“Stop telling me to wait in the car!" Yoochun yelled back. "You can drive yourselves. I’m going home.”
“Will you let go now?!” Jaejoong panted. His eyes were slightly heavy with alcohol but still sober enough to make sense of what's happening.
“You’re not going back there,” Yunho lashed out in frustration. His eyes were shooting flames of jealousy as he remembered the scenes he’d witnessed. “What were you trying to do with that guy?”
“It’s really none of your business.”
“It is my business,” Yunho whispered angrily. His breath fanned against Jaejoong’s skin, their faces only centimeters apart. He looked so tempting. Yunho bent forward to catch Jaejoong's lips but he turned away that Yunho ended up kissing his jaw instead. There was a flash of hurt in Yunho's eyes at the intended rejection but he thought it was best ignoring it.
Jaejoong glared at his attempt. “Why the hell do you care who I dance with?” he grunted in annoyance and roughly nudged Yunho’s chest with his shoulder. “It’s not like we’re still together, Yunho. Not anymore.” Then with a wicked glint in his eyes, he added, “I will sleep with whomever I want to and you can’t do anything about it.”
“Don't you dare," Yunho snarled, his anger and possessiveness seeping out of his every pore. His hand shot up to grip a fistful of Jaejoong’s black hair and pulled his head back roughly while the other kept Jaejoong’s wrists locked together. “You're mine, Jaejoong. I'll fucking kill anyone who touches you. Do you understand me?”
Jaejoong shuddered seeing the fire in Yunho’s eyes. The magnetic pull was so intense that he almost surrendered to that churning feeling inside him. Almost. He turned away to break the tension but Yunho tugged harder on his hair and started nipping his jaw.
“Let me kiss you,” he whispered.
“No.” Jaejoong hissed, feeling the burn on his scalp. He felt Yunho’s nose nuzzle his cheek before forcing those damning lips on his own. Jaejoong, however, was defiant and showed how he still had control by biting hard on Yunho’s wounded lip that it drew a faint taste of blood.
Yunho pulled away in pain but the fire and desire in his eyes never ceased. “Don’t misbehave, Jaejoong,” he said in a husky whisper. “What you’re doing is only enticing me to tame you.”
Jaejoong was shaken at that bold statement. He helplessly thrashed about, legs kicking feebly but Yunho’s other hand was imprisoning him by his waist. The fingers on his hair clenched tighter that he began to gasp in discomfort and Yunho seeing the opportunity, took that moment to delve in for another kiss. He was just about to bite again except Yunho opened his mouth over his, and started caressing his trembling lips with his skillful tongue.
‘It must be the alcohol’, Jaejoong reasoned, eyes fluttering close as his own lips now betrayed him. He whimpered in soft pants, feeling a different kind of ache stir within him as Yunho’s kisses continued to work its magic. His tongue dragged a wet trail on Yunho’s lower lip before slipping it inside the other’s mouth and felt it being sensually fondled as Yunho met it with his own.
Jaejoong whined in a meek protest when Yunho’s rigid length ground against him. The action was too sensually gratifying that his legs instinctively wrapped around the other’s waist in need of more friction. Jaejoong groaned as his lips was sucked, nipped, bitten in the heated exchange and then breathed heavily as he felt Yunho's mouth trailed down his neck where a blooming mark was left to claim full possession over him.
"I love you," Yunho murmured into his ear.
Jaejoong's eyes snapped open as he finally caught himself. His head suddenly throbbed, mixed with dizziness from the alcohol he consumed and worsened by thoughts that began to swirl as if to battle against Yunho's words.
No matter what happens, promise me you won’t leave.
I promise.
Jaejoong broke the kiss and wiped his mouth with the back of his hand. “Stop it.” His eyes were aflame as he spoke.
“Why?” Yunho softly pecked the corner of his lips, then slowly dragged his kisses toward Jaejoong’s cheek. “You don’t love me anymore?”
Jaejoong averted his eyes because they both know the answer to that. “Didn’t you make it clear that you don’t want anything to do with me?” he said in a subdued tone.
"You're being unfair.” Yunho shook his head in disbelief. His hand finally released Jaejoong’s wrists, but instantly wrapped his arms securely around the narrow waist before the other could move away. “I had the right to feel upset after what you did! I know you’re hurt because I said things I shouldn’t have, but I didn’t mean any of that. I was mad, Jaejoong-ah. I felt betrayed. You can’t possibly hold that against me.”
Jaejoong looked away. “You’re right. What I did was selfish and my conscience haunts me every day and night for that. I truly am sorry I broke you two apart. But Yunho,” his tone now suddenly different, “Don’t expect me to apologize for the things I didn’t do that you’re accusing me of.”
“Yes, I should have listened to you.” Yunho whispered as he lifted a hand to cup Jaejoong’s cheek but he flinched away from him. “Jaejoong-ah,” he sighed. “You know how complicated the situation is for me... all the evidences pointed unfavorably to you.”
“I know...” Jaejoong said with an unreadable expression on his face. “I knew I was at a disadvantage that’s why I desperately needed you to believe in me... even just a little. I would have at least known that I still meant something to you and that there’s still hope left for me to fix things.” His eyes were sad and reflected an obscured emotion that Yunho so badly wanted to read.
“And when I tried to speak for myself, you treated me with condescension instead of hearing what I had to say.”
Yunho chose to listen this time. He buried his head in the crook of Jaejoong’s neck, and held him close while the other spoke of the hurt and sadness that was plaguing him. “I needed time to think. You have to understand--"
"I understand that. Believe me I do.” Jaejoong’s voice trembled as he stared pensively into space. “But it hurts how you took the easy way out and just left me. Do you know what that made me feel? You were so intent on getting rid of me as if what we had between us held no importance to you.”
“That's not.. no, it’s not like that.” Yunho pulled away in concern and coaxed Jaejoong to look at him. “Jaejoong, baby... listen,” Yunho held Jaejoong’s face in between his hands. “We both made our mistakes. Let's start over, can we do that?”
“How can you expect me to be the same again when you made me realize that I’ll always be the mistake you would have never took a chance with?” Jaejoong whispered. He was so conflicted, and Yunho leaving only made him even more unsure of himself. He would always be reminded that Yunho would have never considered being with him had he not done the things he did.
Jaejoong shook his head. “No... I can’t... I can’t be that person anymore.”
“I never thought of you that way.” It bothered him how Jaejoong was just staring at him with unfeeling eyes. “Jaejoong-ah,” he said his name worriedly and held him tighter in silent apology. “You know that, right? It's so hard without you.” Yunho then left a kiss on the juncture of his neck, the gentleness of it nearly undid him but Jaejoong willed himself to fight it.
“I’m sorry.” Yunho’s apology surprisingly elicited a chuckle from Jaejoong. Although the other sounded amused, the tone was bitter and cold to his ears.
“There’s nothing to be sorry about.” Jaejoong said, his voice barely a whisper. "After all, you could be right about me. I must be stupid enough to confuse this sick fascination with love."
Yunho froze and didn’t understand why he felt so helpless at that moment. It felt terrible knowing that his momentarily outburst and uncontrolled anger had swayed Jaejoong’s thoughts about what he felt for him. He tried to calm his racing heart and convinced himself that Jaejoong couldn’t mean what he was saying.
“That’s enough,” he hissed. Yunho never thought it could hurt this badly to be denied by someone. Had Jaejoong felt the same during those times he’d rejected him?
“Since we’re done here...” Jaejoong pushed Yunho away and scampered towards the door. But before he could disappear, he felt Yunho’s arm circle around his waist.
“Don’t look so smug,” he whispered into Jaejoong’s ear. “It’s not over between us. I won’t allow it,” he said before lightly kissing Jaejoong's nape. “Consider it payback for all the times you’ve never given up on me."
Yunho understood what Jaejoong needed tonight so he let him scurry back inside the crowded room and drink the night away. But he made sure to stay on guard and followed the man closely behind. Jaejoong settled back to his reserved table, not a surprise on his face when Yunho slid beside him and watched him like a hawk.
Jaejoong huffed. He felt it useless to argue because there was no way Yunho would leave him alone in his current state. And as much as he tried to ignore the other’s chilling presence and acted like it was just a shadow in the darkness, he found himself constantly glaring at Yunho’s direction.
Yunho raised an eyebrow at the scrawny-looking man who wanted to ask Jaejoong for a dance. “Don’t even think about, kid.”
“And who are you?”
“You’re looking at his boyfriend.” Yunho was scaring away every person that flirted with Jaejoong and the livid beauty could only watch each one leave in disappointment.
“I wanted to dance with him!”
“Are you trying to make me jealous?” Yunho inquired with a small smile. “If you'd like me to kiss you again, you could just ask.”
A touch of red showed on Jaejoong’s cheeks. “You conceited toad!”
Yunho ignored his outburst and shoved a drink towards him instead. “Here, the most expensive drink in the house. My treat.”
‘"Expensive, huh?" Jaejoong thought he was being clever and demanded for another one. What he failed to consider, that particular drink was also the strongest out of the bunch. But to be fair, he wasn’t really in the right mind to think at the moment, because he would have noticed that it was part of the scheme of getting him hammered into unconsciousness.
In Yunho’s defense, it was the only way he could get Jaejoong out of the place without them fighting about it and causing a scene.
A couple of shots later, to Yunho’s bemusement, Jaejoong was already clinging drunkenly to him, giggling as he poked and pinched Yunho’s cheeks. He knew perfectly that Jaejoong was even more difficult to handle when intoxicated--there was his ruthless mood swings to deal with, and a personality that shifted like a pendulum. One moment he could be this feisty devil, and then would morph into an achingly adorable, clingy person the next.
Yunho was amused. However, when Jaejoong started comparing him to a cute chipmunk, Yunho decided it was time to bring him home. A chipmunk! he scoffed. “I think we’re good to go.”
He pulled Jaejoong into his lap, eyes softening instantly when the ebony-haired man leaned into his shoulder in reflex like he always did when Yunho held him like that. Yunho nuzzled Jaejoong’s cheek, before giving him a sweet, chaste kiss on the lips.
“Can you walk?”
Jaejoong shook his head, giggling into Yunho’s neck. “Ahh, I thought so. I’m going to carry you, alright? I need you to be still.” Yunho advised as he scooped Jaejoong up and lifted him into his arms. “Okay baby, hold on--”
“Oohh... You’re a strong chipmunk Yunnoya~!”
Yunho carried him out with an annoyed scowl on his face.
***
Jaejoong was being compliant when Yunho tucked him in the car. He had slept through the entire ride--dead to the world that Yunho managed to steal another brief kiss without getting his eyes clawed out. On their way up to the building though, Jaejoong stirred and was in a jubilant mood as he hummed a song with a stupid grin on his face while Yunho gave him a piggy back ride.
Upon reaching the hallway, Yunho took a stop and was waiting for the elevator to come down when they were greeted by a horrified face of the old lady they’d encountered before.
“Um--” He wouldn’t have minded but Jaejoong by now was on his feet, leaning against Yunho’s chest as he trailed small kisses along his neck.
“Hullooo granny~!” Jaejoong singsonged.
Yunho held back his laughter at the change on the woman’s outlook. He placed a hand over Jaejoong’s mouth and made a quick bow of apology.
“I’m sorry about that. He’s really drunk,” he said and pulled Jaejoong with him into the lift.
“I can see that,” she answered in an unfriendly tone. Without much of a glance, she took a step back and rode a different elevator instead.
“Why does she keep seeing us in a compromising position?” Yunho grunted.
“Mmnnphhffht--” Jaejoong tried to speak but Yunho’s hand was still on his mouth. With sparkles dancing in his eyes, he surprised Yunho by swiping his tongue against his palm.
Yunho’s eyes widened in panic that he nearly dragged Jaejoong into his apartment as soon as the elevator door opened. He noticed, Jaejoong was growing increasingly playful by the second, and it wasn’t helping that his own self control was frighteningly close to breaking point.
“Do you know what you’re doing to me right now?” Yunho sighed as he gently laid Jaejoong on the bed. The other only looked around in confusion and then smiled up at him.
“Yunno-ya...” he slurred.
“What is it?” It was a torment undressing Jaejoong. And as he laid there splayed out across Yunho’s bed in only his boxers, Yunho could only try not to let the wrong head do the thinking. Struggling to keep his control, he grabbed a warm washcloth and sponged Jaejoong’s body starting from his face to his neck then wiped down his chest.
“Why’m I wet?” Jaejoong mumbled, shivering under Yunho’s touch.
“I’m cleaning you up. You smell like smoke and alcohol,” Yunho whispered as he moved the damp washcloth over Jaejoong’s stomach. His fingers trembled, completely fascinated as he swiped along the pale skin that felt like a silky woven fabric. He was lost in his own thoughts that he yelped in surprise when Jaejoong pulled him by the neck.
Yunho’s face was a shade of red and purple, but definitely not from embarrassment. He was so close to losing it. He was hovering above Jaejoong with only his arms supporting his weight. “Jaejoong-ah... I’m not done...”
“But you’re taking so long,” he whined. Jaejoong left feathery kisses on his face then paused before he could reach Yunho’s lips. “Why are you not kissing me, Yunno-yah?” His eyes were smouldering as he stared at Yunho.
Yunho felt himself stagger, his breath coming out in quick pants.
"Don't you want to make love to me, hmm?" Jaejoong whispered while nibbling on Yunho's lips.
"You're so..." Yunho exhaled, the last bit of his self-restraint finally breaking. He unwound Jaejoong's arms around his neck and spread them on the bed. "I could never resist you," he whispered back as he laced their fingers together.
And then with all the passion that he could give, he quickly bent down to crash his lips against Jaejoong’s mouth. They were burning, the heat of their kisses rooting from the frustration of being apart. Jaejoong would probably give him hell the next morning for this, but damn all of it, Yunho honestly could not bring himself to care.
Free Counter A/N: I'm late again. Sorry! I've been busy and it didn't help that this chapter was a struggle to write, that's why it took me a while to update. =/ Anyway, I hope this explains why Jaejoong is being difficult at the moment. Does it make sense? Oh god, I hope it does or I'm going to bang my head on the wall for failing to deliver. x_x
