Lyra was a trainer to her very core. She had come to FDC for a mission, but there was no way she could go to a new area without seeing what kind of Pokemon happened to be living in the tall grass. Maybe a nice Furret or two. Maybe even something that she'd never seen before in her life.

She usually kept her blatant Pikachu knockoff Togetic out with her, but this time, she opted for Vicky. The Meganium would appreciate being able to spend time in a green place, after all. It was a little early for a lot of things to be blooming, but it was still better than nothing.

Almost instantly, the Ivysaur couldn't help but be drawn to the sweet scent of the Meganium. There was something comforting about it, evoking old memories that hadn't been brought to the surface in years - his father's fragrance, huddling under his expansive leaves in the rain, sneaking to watch the evolution ceremonies.

To see such a powerful Grass Type be shackled to a trainer's whims... the taste was bitter. He'd tail the two of them. See what their intentions were. The Ivysaur was still recovering, so he knew that in a proper fight there'd be no way to win against the Meganium.

Still, limps didn't make for the sneakiest saur.

Perhaps if they'd been in the forest on some other task, they wouldn't have noticed the pizzicato tiptoeing of a pesky Ivysaur. Given that wild Pokemon were exactly what Lyra and her planty companion were after, though, it wasn't long before one of them caught on.

Maybe it was just a Meganium's connection to nature alerting it to a damaged plant, maybe it just caught a lucky flash of pink in the corner of its eye or the hint of a scent that wasn't its own. Whatever it was, Vicky came to a stop, turning around to direct a stare toward their leafy green stalker.

Lyra echoed the movement, peering around at the trees cluelessly. "What's up, Vicky? You see something?"

Another day of convenience, after Green times. rocketstarter March 15 2011, 02:58:51 UTC
The week had been a decidedly weird one for Frankie, marked by an array of thoughts and feelings that were more or less entirely foreign to the Ivysaur. They admittedly made him very uncomfortable, and Frankie did not enjoy that one bit.

Funny how it all seemed to revolve around one spineless trainer. No, he was far from spineless. He had watched him with that Wartortle of his, and a quiet whisper had crept around his heart in a voice that was not entirely unlike his own. Would he have been happier if he had chosen someone else? He could not identify where that thought had come from. He hadn't meant Red. Was he testing his own loyalties? It didn't matter. He was Red's pokemon. That was all he would ever need.

… Yet he could not stop the bitter taste that rose in his throat as he watched them. It was frustrating. Frankie did not like frustration.

A distraction was in order. Conveniently enough, a place like this was swimming in rumours to investigate. Some of them were more true than others… He was still quite upset ( ... )

The forest was awfully comforting. A wonderful safe haven for a wary grass type. It was easy to feel safe there, tucked away from those that would harm them, safe in knowing that the forest would never hurt them. In some locations, they were rumoured to even come to their inhabitants' aid in time of danger. Ahh, what wonderful places ( ... )

the morning after frankie greenisaloser March 17 2011, 01:53:25 UTC
Another morning, another breakfast. Green woke up early, dropped some food off at Squirt, Spear, and Kerosene's rooms, and then set off towards the forest. When he had first met the Ivysaur who lived there a few days ago, it seemed like he was a lost cause. But the small amounts of progress they had made hadn't been lost on him, he had noticed how the Ivysaur didn't seem so incredibly put upon by his presence. With time, it was maybe even possible that he could... like him? Something about the Pokemon was very... familiar. Green found himself smiling thinking about the encounter for today. What would it be like? Would he maybe actually let Green pet him?

But, hm. Ivysaur wasn't waiting near the border of the forest like he usually was. Green hovered around nervously for a moment before deciding to go deeper into the brush. And deeper. Still no sign.

"I.. Ivysaur?"

Green stood there for a moment, not really sure what he was looking at. But that only lasted for that moment. He dropped everything, tupperware container of fried rice tumbling to the ground, forgotten. He dashed over to the Ivysaur, not bothering to ask for permission, and pulled the dying Pokemon into his lap. The smell of the pollen was almost unbearable. Tears began to spring to his eyes, from both the pollen and the sight alone.

"Ivysaur?! What happened?!"
