Well too bad for Goose, but Surge finished all of his work early. That meant he could go home early and relax. To be honest, he just wanted to spend a quiet evening in the apartment with the pilot. Sure it was Valentine's Day, so it was obvious they'd have a nice dinner together, but he just didn't feel like going out.

Not to mention, probably half the city was going nuts trying to find last minute restaurants that were still open. Most people booked at least a week in advance for the holiday. Going out really wasn't an option. And he wasn't about to make himself crazy trying.

Unlocking the apartment door, he hummed towards Hettie and Tillie. At least they were well behaved while he was gone. Since Goose was already there, he called out, "I'm back."

Many plans are destined to be ruined, and tonight, this would include Goose's. It didn't mean that he'd stop making the cake- in fact, the lieutenant's help would probably be appreciated. Maybe it'd even make the night more fun.

What wasn't fun was when Surge entered and completely surprised him. The result?

"WHAT--"

Goose accidentally squeezing an open tube of icing (he was getting that ready in a little icing squirting bag for when he finished the cake, see). Right at Surge's face.

Hope you like light green, Surge.

All. Over. His. Face.

Surge blinked as his eyesight was momentarily covered in green. As he wiped it from his eyes, he grimaced at the sticky substance. What on earth was this? Sticky, sweet smelling... After taking a quick lick of his now-icing covered fingers, he realized what the green ooze was.

Then he looked up. And noticed the cake.

"... You're baking," the lieutenant remarked in a surprised tone.

Well, at least it wasn't an intruder, but he still wasn't fully happy to see his fiance back home.

The cake flour was out in a box still with the milk, egg, and other ingredients still out. ((F-Fff sorry I should have mentioned that the cake wasn't even mixed or anything yet--)) The mixing bowl, cake pan, and other such things were already out and prepped. Goose was just preparing the icing at this point when a certain someone decided to come home.

So much for it being a total surprise. Goose laughed awkwardly.

"... Baking. For you?" He shrugged, and again, accidentally squeezed some icing right onto the floor. Uhhh. "... Or tryin' to."

"Yeah, yeah, I know. She's your first Pokemon. You're just startin' out. It's okay, I'll help ya," the lieutenant started to rub the burn lotion on the skin. He made sure to be careful and not to aggravate the skin further.

"Pokeblocks? Nah, don't really know too much about 'em. You may want to ask some of the trainers at the school. They'd probably know." Surge shrugged, "I mostly just use vitamins on my Pokemon. In my opinion, Pokeblocks and poffins are more for Pokemon geared towards breedin' or contests."

That was a strange mixture of soothing action and stinging. It made the skin feel less hot, but it did leave an odd, tingling-type pain regardless. Strange. No pain, no gain, he supposed when it came to treatment of this kind.

Once vitamins got mentioned, though, he paused.

He then... grinned.

"So... Pokesteroids? You're gonna give Tillie muscles?" Goose laughed. He braced himself in case he got smacked for that one.

Surge paused, considering smacking some sense into the pilot. But he figured Goose had experienced enough pain for one day. The kind that would last for at least a week. That seemed like punishment enough.

"Ha ha, very funny," he dryly replied. "Vitamins are legit. They aren't as extreme as steroids or anything. 'Side, it wouldn't hurt if Tillie increased her stats."

"Her... stats?"

Goose paused. He was about to show a shining example of Pokeknowledge right here. The most shining example.

"What... kinda stats?"

That, or the exact opposite of shining.

Oh right. The mess. Better get it cleaned up now before it hardened and stuck to everything. "Yeah, you're right. We should probably do that," Surge sighed.

Releasing the pilot, he glanced around. "If you want to start on Tillie's mess, I'll start cleanin' the oven." It had been open long enough for it to cool down. And even if it wasn't completely room temperature, better the lieutenant do it than have Goose possibly burn his hands again.

((Yeah, the honeymoon would probably be 26th-27th. I wouldn't mind logging it later. Maybe after the wedding log is finished?))

LE SIGH.

"Iiiii'll go for that. Tillie, you need to cut it out, 'kay? If only I had a Poke Ball for her or something."

As Goose began to clean, he questioned his fiance nearby. "So... Tillie. Should I get her a Poke Ball or what? I kinda never had to do that since she follows me everywhere and shit."

((SURE how about we log it on the 2nd? A little spacing out before the AU event, plus it doesn't look like wedding log's going to get a whole lot more action at this point anyway.))

Taking out the cleaning supplies, Surge mulled over the question. "Well, it all depends on you and her. If you're mainly goin' to treat her as a pet, then nah, you probably don't need one. If you'd rather train her a little and keep her by your side at all times, then you should get one."

He glanced down at his own set of Pokeballs, set firmly on his belt. "I wouldn't go anywhere without my team. But considerin' how big some of 'em are, it'd be impractical to have them outside their balls. If Tillie ever evolves, you definitely should get her a Pokeball. But for right now, it's up to you."

((The 2nd sounds good to me.))

((Oh! Just to clarify, they're going to FREAKING AMERICA for their honeymoon, are they? Or a different vacation locale?))

Goose cleaned up some of the glass on the dining room table. Ugh, cake splatter. EVERYWHERE.

"Sounds like I oughta then. She kinda escapes a lot. Likes to roam and stuff. Likes to clean things she ain't supposed to clean." Like the interior of the dormitory complex. How does she get all the way over there? Nobody knows.

"Hey, y'know, I kinda wonder... have I ever seen much of your Pokemon? I oughta see 'em sometime. What's your biggest?" He paused, and then added. "... Think you can show me one of 'em? I'd kinda like to meet my man's partners anyway, heh." Did he ever really get to know Surge's Pokemon apart from Raichu? Probably not.
