Hojita was out exploring, as usual, when she noticed all of the butterflies scattering all about the air. Their orange and black selves dotted the blue skies and the area around the pine green trees, showing off a vibrant mixture of colors in the surrounding area. It was certainly a sight, she wouldn't deny... but it couldn't help but make her wish that these were Butterfree and Beautifly instead.

Ah well. She still took advantage and with a childlike flourish, she squealed and began to chase the fluttering bugs. Catching them didn't seem like it'd be easy with only a few of them, but seeing as there were many, maybe she could grab hold of one to take a closer look.

From the distance, Olimar was being a creeper watched the eager little Bulbmin as she ran around. Hojita's energy reminded him of his childhood on Hocotate. When he wasn't cooped up in the house watching cartoons or reading, he would try to collect insects. (With little success usually.)

"Hojita!" Olimar called out and gave a friendly wave.

Hojita's head perked up for only a moment when she heard Olimar's voice. She waved and squeaked out a sharp, "Leeeeader!!" She waved her hand towards her to follow him and she continued on, chasing insects. She wanted him to come closer and to her to be right there with her, especially since she was quite occupied with the bugs. Maybe they could even catch bugs together? That would be fun!

Getting up from where he was sitting, it took all of one second to decide he would accompany Hojita. While he felt hesitant over the idea of capturing one, it was all too temping.

"Having fun?" He asked, just as he walked up to her.

Not everyone was going to just sit back and admire the insects. They were beautiful, sure, but they'd come out of nowhere and they would no doubt vanish just as suddenly, which was why Wendy had to act quickly if she was going to amass a collection of pretty things to decorate her room with.

As soon as she'd looked out her window and saw the fields of butterflies, she grabbed an empty box (which had actually been filled with Smeargle's art supplies, but a quick dumping solved that problem) and hurried outside. The swarms were so thick one could practically reach out and grab one right out of the air.

She did just that.

"HEY!" A certain pink menace called out to the Koopa princess. With a frown on her face and a hand on her hip, Amy really didn't get good impression of Wendy from their encounter at Capcom High. "You can't just capture them! Those poor butterflies are supposed to migrate!"

Oh, not this hussy again! Who did she think she was, bossing a Princess around like that?!

"I can and I will!" Just to prove her point, Wendy threw the butterfly into the box, leaving the broken creature to crawl helplessly along the edges. "What do you care, Pinkie?"

Oh yes, Amy was not against standing up for herself when the time called for it. Or just when someone just rubbed her the wrong way. "You're not supposed to capture them. They need to migrate! Besides, butterflies usually die when you keep them contained."

She kept her stance, glaring at Wendy.

Bonechill had always been intrigued with butterflies. Such delicate ephemeral things, hardy enough to make the long journey, but fragile enough that a hand could crush them. In two weeks, their lives would be over, their migration fulfilled, and a new generation of Monarchs would start the whole process over. He reached out and touched a butterfly that had landed on a branch near him. It froze into a beautiful, yet sad icy sculpture. Bonechill smiled slightly. In a way, people were like butterflies. So delicate, their lives passing and coming, generations going by, yet still.. Despite the human race's foibles, wars, and biases.. They still were a surviving species.. A species, that at any time, could be easily crushed.

Olimar knew what Monarch butterflies were, after spending a couple of years on Earth. While shaken by the telepathic message, the pseudo-biologist had no choice but to see the migration himself. It reminded him a little of the Unmarked Sectralids, and how they would flutter about.

"...Wow."

Shades of orange danced in the air with elegance and grace. He looked up in awe, fond memories swarmed in his head in a similar pattern as the Monarchs before him.

"They're beautiful. Their orange hues remind me of falling leaves as they drift gently in autumn breeze..."

It was a shame Blacky was having one of her less-than-stellar days in terms of health. She didn't even hear the voice in her mind (if it had reached it at all; you never could tell with a Dark Type), and when she opened the window to see how the weather was outside she was surprised to see the entire school had been covered in autumn leaves. ...But they weren't leaves. Leaves didn't fly back up from the ground and land on her windowsill and spread their wings.

Butterflies! Was it that time of year already? It would only last a day, and of all days it had to be this one. She briefly contemplated venturing outside to enjoy the insects, but for once she was actually listening to common sense and so she stayed in bed.

At least she could watch them outside her window.
