Not everyone was going to just sit back and admire the insects. They were beautiful, sure, but they'd come out of nowhere and they would no doubt vanish just as suddenly, which was why Wendy had to act quickly if she was going to amass a collection of pretty things to decorate her room with.

As soon as she'd looked out her window and saw the fields of butterflies, she grabbed an empty box (which had actually been filled with Smeargle's art supplies, but a quick dumping solved that problem) and hurried outside. The swarms were so thick one could practically reach out and grab one right out of the air.

She did just that.

"HEY!" A certain pink menace called out to the Koopa princess. With a frown on her face and a hand on her hip, Amy really didn't get good impression of Wendy from their encounter at Capcom High. "You can't just capture them! Those poor butterflies are supposed to migrate!"

Oh, not this hussy again! Who did she think she was, bossing a Princess around like that?!

"I can and I will!" Just to prove her point, Wendy threw the butterfly into the box, leaving the broken creature to crawl helplessly along the edges. "What do you care, Pinkie?"

Oh yes, Amy was not against standing up for herself when the time called for it. Or just when someone just rubbed her the wrong way. "You're not supposed to capture them. They need to migrate! Besides, butterflies usually die when you keep them contained."

She kept her stance, glaring at Wendy.

"There's plenty that'll get to migrate, so quit white-knighting them." Of course, it would be a different story if Wendy had known of the migration in advance. She'd have had her servants build a gigantic net and attach it to the airship and scoop up pretty much every single one. Who cared if they wouldn't all fit in the dorm? She'd keep a spare supply for when the ones on her walls broke.

Maybe next year.

Definitely next year.

"Haven't you ever seen those butterflies in frames? They're dead, but still look nice. I'm going to do that too." She grabbed another butterfly, holding its thin body between two claws so as not to damage the wings this time.
