I totally noticed that! I personally loved those references.

But I tend to believe Effy when she says she loves Freddy, because it's EFFY. She doesn't love unless she damn well means it. So unless something huge goes down with Freddy and Effy, I don't think she and Cook are going to become any sort of conventional couple. But that said, I definitely see similarities to Tony and Michelle. And I agree that the comedy in tonight was very reminiscent of series one and two.

The Freffy relationship is so confusing to me. I really don't see any foundation for it and so far they've been treated as some sort of background couple and have had no real conversations (~shocking, I know). So, either the writers are just saving it all for Freddie's episode, or they are trying to tell us something: that Effy isn't in love with Freddie and that she's confusing what she wants to be love for this idea of a good guy that would fix all of her problems. I don't think Effy knows what love is... I mean, that's the only explaination I can come too for their relationship. I can't describe as love at all.

But who knows, maybe JB will prove me wrong and show me that they are in love in Freddie's episode. It's just hard to believe without any real foundation or substance. :/

I'm confused by them too. I want to believe her but I don't understand why they love each other.

Effy has never loved. In serious two she says "love love love, what is it good for? absolutely nothing". She doesn't know what love is. I believe that she thinks she's in love but that she'll come to realize that she really isn't at the end of the series.

what about Cook's similarities to Chris? ...the whole "living fast" thing. I couldn't stop thinking of Chris though that whole Naomi/Cook scene...sorry, but Cook will never be that awesome. =]

I agree that Chris > Cook, as Chris > everything. But they both live hard and fast.

But Cook better not die young.

I don't think so. That would be too cliche. Chris' death came as a hard, fast surprise and it made sense because of his brother's past illness. It also explained why he didn't take life seriously. But I see a future for Cook.

Comparison #1:

After Tony (former jackass) has effectively fucked up any chance of T/M. He looks at images of happy!Michelle (when was with him).

I wasn't even a T/M fan and I really noticed the parallels! And I definitely don't think it was done unintentionally. ;)

edit: it should be "(when she was with him)" up there in the captions.
