[So he's curious, and it's been long enough since Naoya's seen something new that it trumps his caution.

It's not as though the thought of dying poses more than a temporary inconvenience to him, anyway. He stands on the roof of one building, keeping a shield up as a caution against other monsters...and as an early warning system.

If it goes down, he'll have found what he's waiting for.]

[Marluxia likes to stalk out at night, when he's normally cooped up in the house. Civilized, safe living never really appealed to him anyway.

He's quick to pick up on rumors of new happenings in the Port, ones that matter to him, anyway, and the prospect of new monsters lurking around in the Darkness was more than enough to pique his interest. The more he learned about these creatures, the more he might be able to glean about the true nature of the Port, the Core, whatever.

He wore his Organization coat for such excursions, even though wasn't really part of them any more. It was practical, probably one of the few good ideas those scientists had. He kept the hood up, turning himself into just another black shape in the Dark.

[Far too much had been going on for Frau lately. Teito's sudden arrival had been both a blessing and a curse. At the moment, the curse seems a lot stronger. Frau is struggling to deal with his apprentice's memory loss. That night, it was too much for him to just sit inside so he'd zaiphon'd Teito into the apartment and left.

Standing atop one of the roofs, Frau drinks in the night and tries to relax a bit. He knows it won't really work, even though heights are usually a good place for him to get his thoughts together. This time, he figures he's only going to be able to distract himself. Fighting darkness monsters would be a good way to do it.]

[From his vantage point, Marluxia must have looked not all that different from a creature stalking in the Darkness for living prey, slipping carefully from shadow to shadow, barely seen in the gloom.

The smell of blood from the ground was faint, but unmistakable to the Assassin's sharp senses. He paused, scenting the air before looking at the ground, the alley walls, to find the source of the smell. Blood in a place like this was rather dismayingly common, and if he could determine how fresh the blood was, and the general direction of the creature that had lost it, he could move on. He finally finds the source, a trail of blood not unlike someone dragged a body across the ground, and he starts to follow it, footfalls scarcely making a sound.]

[The movement blow caught Frau's attention. So far he hadn't run into anything major, and the area was relatively quiet now. Seeing something actually moving was worth looking into. Frau wouldn't pass up a good fight right about now.

With a few easy bounds across the rooftops, Frau followed after Marluxia. It wouldn't take him much to catch up, but he wanted to investigate first. When he got close enough, his suspicions were confirmed. This shadow wasn't of the darkness. It didn't feel the same.]

[It had been some time since Tifa last ventured out into the Darkness with the intention of making it a safer place. But she couldn't ignore the news articles, these new monsters were even more dangerous then normal and had already begun racking up a body count.

So she's slipping through the Darkness, dressed in the closest thing she has to a combat uniform, seeking out these monsters and hopefully getting a chance to save their victims.]

[It took Teito two hours to break the zaiphon seal on the door. Two hours of hurling every invective he could imagine, or had heard said, at the unassuming barrier between him and the rest of this city. But he'd done it - broken that damned bishop's seal and left the apartment, dressed in the apprentice bishop uniform that the stubborn man had gotten for him.

Mostly because Frau had shredded his military uniform.

Now, however, he's on the hunt, looking for said jailer, just to give him a piece of his mind over leaving him locked in the apartment like that to begin with.

If he were less angry or a little more rational right then, he would have probably realized this was his perfect opportunity to escape Frau's imprisonment. As it is, he's neither, and so instead of running away, he's running to. Or at least he will be, just as soon as he figures out where the perverted idiot had disappeared off to ( ... )

[It wasn't uncommon for Ayanami to be outside after sirens. Perhaps because he's a Warsfeil, he felt strangely at home in the Darkness, even if the monsters attacked him every now and then.

Also, it certainly did not escape him that Teito, Zehel, and Relikt were on the island, which was why he kept a low profile, at least until he had a better idea of how things worked around here. Plus it would have been a bit of work to separate Teito from Zehel, but well, it seems someone did the work for him today.]

Teito.

[He already knew people from the same worlds don't always get pulled from the same point in time. Since Teito is wearing his bishop's robes, Ayanami is a grade more wary.

He strides up to the boy, and when he is close enough, draws his sword and levels it at Teito's throat.]

LOL! No worries! found_my_light November 30 2011, 15:59:57 UTC
[Teito, however, doesn't move at all - he simply blinks impassively up at the man, then shifts to stand at attention, green eyes straight ahead. Every inch the properly obedient soldier despite the surprise of suddenly running into his superior here.]

Chief Ayanami.

Pardon the delay, but I was unaware you were here in this place. Bishop Frau took away my NV several days ago so I hadn't realized you had arrived.

[The smallest of smiles, only just evident in the dark, marks his approval for the response.]

I see. [That means Zehel knew he was here. Ayanami sheaths his sword with a curt flourish.]

Excellent work escaping from imprisonment. However, this is not a good time to wander unarmed in the dark. There are creatures about who render Zaiphon useless.

Tyrell’s looking even more worn down than on the day he made his network broadcast about the moon, sporting more cuts and bruises too. More than that, though, there’s something particularly sluggish about his movements this evening - his footsteps are slow, his eyes are weary, yet even at his worst, he’s still nimble enough to not get himself killed. He hopes.

There’s something relieving about being out here in the Darkness, even when he’s not fighting to save anyone, or not doing anything particular at all. Maybe it’s the rush of adrenaline, that pushes aside most other feelings. You are so incredibly dumb. Maybe he should let people get him like that and all the same he couldn’t help it, he ( ... )

The 27th marked Caster’s extended stay in Siren’s Port as exactly two months and three days. Time had felt weary for the magus, whose eyes had not seen slumber since her inception into the city. Nevertheless, she continued to toil away into the night, heedless of the Darkness and emboldened by the sight of her destination like an emblem of hope. Even now, her legs carried her down the street in her usual purple-black robe and dark pair of stiletto heels.

Yet, as jaded as she felt, she still maintained her image of a sedate woman, calm and still like water. Even now, her voice mirrored the same serenity as she called out to the boy pinned by the reflection of her eyes.

"Mr. Tyrell?"

Caster’s movement ceased as she shifted to face him, the lowered hood rendering her expression a stark neutral. "Good evening," she greeted him courteously, along with a smile. "I didn’t expect to see you."

You don’t look so good. You should go back home. It’s dangerous out here. These thoughts crossed her mind, but none of them escaped her lips. ( ... )

He'd been just about to start running when he heard his name, a strange, unfamiliar mister added to the front of it. While he paused, almost stumbled, really, he considered just sprinting off into the distance, pretending like he'd never heard her before.

Then, however, she chose to show concern. Sure, it could have been an innocent question, but Tyrell knew that there was hardly anyone who'd approve of him racing about in the darkness like this, because they didn't know how he felt. Why did he have to explain himself to her, anyway? He hardly knew her, really. They'd just met the other day.

It made him angry, but ultimately, it was that anger that made him stay. His free hand clenched into a tight fist, he planted his feet into ground, resisting the urge to just keep running forever. He jerked his head, looking away from her, at the sky. "Just going for a walk," he answered, voice and muscles terse.

Because, really, what did it look like he was doing?

Even in the night when the Darkness hung almost tangibly in the air, Caster could read the pride and dignity in the outline of his figure like a warrior at battle. Yet, unless he considered her one, there was no enemy present. If there was a war, it was not with an external cause but, rather, inside the labyrinth of his mind.

For a moment, she fancied the notion of lending him a hand. After all, what was wrong with sundering the walls with another crack to add to the ones already rendering it? However, the idea passed as swiftly as it came, and instead of entertaining her whimsy, another question made it past her lips.

"Was there something on your mind?" Once more, her level voice was a gentle contrast with his terse tone.
