[It took Teito two hours to break the zaiphon seal on the door. Two hours of hurling every invective he could imagine, or had heard said, at the unassuming barrier between him and the rest of this city. But he'd done it - broken that damned bishop's seal and left the apartment, dressed in the apprentice bishop uniform that the stubborn man had gotten for him.

Mostly because Frau had shredded his military uniform.

Now, however, he's on the hunt, looking for said jailer, just to give him a piece of his mind over leaving him locked in the apartment like that to begin with.

If he were less angry or a little more rational right then, he would have probably realized this was his perfect opportunity to escape Frau's imprisonment. As it is, he's neither, and so instead of running away, he's running to. Or at least he will be, just as soon as he figures out where the perverted idiot had disappeared off to

[It wasn't uncommon for Ayanami to be outside after sirens. Perhaps because he's a Warsfeil, he felt strangely at home in the Darkness, even if the monsters attacked him every now and then.

Also, it certainly did not escape him that Teito, Zehel, and Relikt were on the island, which was why he kept a low profile, at least until he had a better idea of how things worked around here. Plus it would have been a bit of work to separate Teito from Zehel, but well, it seems someone did the work for him today.]

Teito.

[He already knew people from the same worlds don't always get pulled from the same point in time. Since Teito is wearing his bishop's robes, Ayanami is a grade more wary.

He strides up to the boy, and when he is close enough, draws his sword and levels it at Teito's throat.]

LOL! No worries!

[Teito, however, doesn't move at all - he simply blinks impassively up at the man, then shifts to stand at attention, green eyes straight ahead. Every inch the properly obedient soldier despite the surprise of suddenly running into his superior here.]

Chief Ayanami.

Pardon the delay, but I was unaware you were here in this place. Bishop Frau took away my NV several days ago so I hadn't realized you had arrived.

[The smallest of smiles, only just evident in the dark, marks his approval for the response.]

I see. [That means Zehel knew he was here. Ayanami sheaths his sword with a curt flourish.]

Excellent work escaping from imprisonment. However, this is not a good time to wander unarmed in the dark. There are creatures about who render Zaiphon useless.

[Teito frowns a bit at that as he steps over, falls into place a half step beside his superior's left. He glances around, verdant eyes intent, every line of his small frame on alert now that he had the warning.]

Than we should get you to a secure location, shouldn't we? Until we find a way back. Do you have a sufficient place to stay, sir?

I am sufficiently armed. You need only worry about yourself.

I assume since you haven't had access to your NV you don't know about the creatures that come out night? Most of them can be defeated with Zaiphon, but recently there are reports of some who are immune.

Frankly I am disappointed in the bishop for not even informing you, much less properly equip you, for these dangers.

[Ayanami starts to lead the way to his temporary living space in Sector 4. Temporary, because he was considering on moving to Sector 2.

They make a few blocks' progress before an Eightlegs starts to tail them. Ayanami doesn't turn to face it yet, but he does stop walking.]

[The moment Ayanami stops, so does Teito. He stays in position, only rolls a shoulder a bit in preparation of the attack he's sure will come.]

He hasn't let me leave the apartment without him since my arrival. I'm sure if he thought I was going to actually be able to break the seal on the door, he would have left me with one--

[Why he felt the necessity to defend Frau, he wasn't really sure, but the moment the words were out he blinked, slowly. Because that had been dangerously close to questioning his superior and if nothing else, Teito knew better than that.]

...Orders, sir?

[Whatever Ayanami's reaction was to Teito making excuses for Frau, he did not show it. It was closest to amusement, really.]
