(
it's a sick sight )
He's quick to pick up on rumors of new happenings in the Port, ones that matter to him, anyway, and the prospect of new monsters lurking around in the Darkness was more than enough to pique his interest. The more he learned about these creatures, the more he might be able to glean about the true nature of the Port, the Core, whatever.
He wore his Organization coat for such excursions, even though wasn't really part of them any more. It was practical, probably one of the few good ideas those scientists had. He kept the hood up, turning himself into just another black shape in the Dark.

Standing atop one of the roofs, Frau drinks in the night and tries to relax a bit. He knows it won't really work, even though heights are usually a good place for him to get his thoughts together. This time, he figures he's only going to be able to distract himself. Fighting darkness monsters would be a good way to do it.]

The smell of blood from the ground was faint, but unmistakable to the Assassin's sharp senses. He paused, scenting the air before looking at the ground, the alley walls, to find the source of the smell. Blood in a place like this was rather dismayingly common, and if he could determine how fresh the blood was, and the general direction of the creature that had lost it, he could move on. He finally finds the source, a trail of blood not unlike someone dragged a body across the ground, and he starts to follow it, footfalls scarcely making a sound.]

With a few easy bounds across the rooftops, Frau followed after Marluxia. It wouldn't take him much to catch up, but he wanted to investigate first. When he got close enough, his suspicions were confirmed. This shadow wasn't of the darkness. It didn't feel the same.]

Cautiously, he stepped further into the darkness, mindful of the potential threat that he had been originally following. It was unlikely that it was the presence on the roof, so being prepared to fight on several fronts was mandatory.]

Frau would have waited and observed more, but the sudden feeling of darkness and power caught his attention. He took a quick glance over his shoulder and managed to bound out of the way before he was smashed. The sound alone was likely enough to catch Marluxia's attention, but if not the sudden arrival of Frau on the ground probably would.]
Head's up!

He let out a small shout, just to indicate that he was ready, already moving in to cover Frau's recovery, eyes cast upwards.]

((We going for a regular darkness monster or a new one? Or both?))

[We could each control one if you're up for that? Any way is fine with me.]

[Frau smirked, not willing to just wait around for this creature to come to them. It was going to get destroyed one way or another. Might as well make it quick. He lifted his free hand and snapped off a quick blast of zaiphon to draw it out.]
((Fine by me.))

He didn't let his admiration distract him from the sound of something wet scraping on the pavement at the other end of the alley blind. Whatever he had been following was clearly moving in.
Guess it wasn't the only one who was impressed.
Casting a glance over to Frau, he circles over to it, scythe notched behind his back, ready to snap and strike.]

He took a step forward and bounded up to meet the creature. His scythe swirled in an easy arc, severing the thing in two without any difficulty. Frau landed lightly and shifted halfway to check on his current "ally" while still keeping an eye on their backs.]

He ignores the foul smell coming from the rotting flesh and gore scraping against the sidewalk and moves in to attack it, letting his scythe fly into the meaty, formless mess.]

Were you hunting these creatures as well?

[Now that all of the creatures nearby were gone, Frau started pressing the scythe back into his arm. It didn't want to go, as usual, but at least it didn't put up too much of a fight.]
