Himawari was able to get the place open and set up about a half an hour before everything was to start. For those who get there early and wish to mingle or meet others there are drinks and snacks in the meeting hall with chairs and tables to sit at. Himawari has offered people to gather information from the tables as soon as they like, so they may read through it all and prepare questions. Otherwise... feel free to chat about with others who have shown up.

Emma arrives about fifteen minutes early and starts reading through the papers, wearing tight blue jeans and a low-cut loose white shirt. She skims everything and places copies in the large purse she's using today.

She's using telepathy in eyes-open mode, not probing but observant. Anyone sensitive to telepathy can feel free to notice this: she's not making a special effort to be stealthy.

[and guess who arrived a little bit later, but still about ten minutes early? This girl. And she's reading through her own papers, pretty intently. In fact she's concentrating a little too hard, there's a short dark haired nun bumping into you Emma]

Oh! I'm so sorry-!

[Emma rocks back and turns around with the momentum, managing not to spill her drink.]

Not a problem. [She offers a hand.] Emma Frost. I'm not actually planning on becoming a Greeter, but I'd like to know what to tell whoever I run into on the Network.

At 12:13, after getting everyone settled and papers passed out, Himawari will go over each packet of information, talking about what a greeter does, how much they get paid, what kind of things are expected as well as some historical information.

Information packets are on Greeters, The History of the Port, and the Newcomer businesses, funding, best people to talk to for legal advice, medical treatment and other important bits of information.

Feel free to ask any questions at all. She is in a much better mood today then she has been and is more then happy to answer any questions at all to her best ability.

[Settling neatly into his seat Lecter composed himself and glanced down to the pamphlet in his hand, listening to what was being said with what might appear to be rapt attention. He kept to the back of the crowd for the time being, staring down the neck of a certain blonde-haired ex-FBI agent. It was in this way he would be able to gauge Will's location while simultaneously benefiting from the information that was being given ( ... )

[She was surprised on the turn out but glad. There were more people here then she had expected, truth be told. That... made her feel a little better about everything however ( ... )

[Japan had always been one of the possibilities after Italy as he did enjoy the culture of her people, certainly. And he spoke the language fairly decently for a "gaijin". Enough to hold a somewhat complex conversation, at any rate. However, he'd never quite gotten that far after being woken by the Greeters in Siren's Port.

Oh well. There were things of interest here, especially the attention to detail in that little packet. It was clear she had put much effort into attracting various Newcomers to this job. He could only wonder why, really. Maybe she was one of those types that felt attaching herself to what she thought was a just cause would distract her from things "upstairs", hm?

It didn't take him long to notice the fumbling, either. Bit of a nervous tic, then. Was she slightly people shy? How curious indeed. Then again it could've been the most diverse population she'd seen in ages, given she was from the island well known for its isolationism. A lingering tendency towards Sakoku, as it were. Not that he blamed her for being ( ... )

After the information part of the meeting a tour of the building, though it seems silly, is offered. She shows those willing to work as greeters (and those just interested) the office, security cameras of the building as well as the baseball field, and all the little things that can help a Greeter at work ( ... )

How new are these?

[it's a question to the air, but Shiroe's eyes are locked on those white puffballs around the mound. he has a tilt to his head and a curious smile on his face, but he's not yet stepping within reaching distance of it.]

[the day had been interesting as a whole, he'd felt, but this was interesting in a particular way. had they started up after the earthquake? maybe the Core had mutated whatever fungi had already started on those gross bases...]

[well, there were plenty of theories to be had. was there a for-sure answer?]

[ But the question caught Amy's ear, same as the large mushrooms. They were so huge and odd looking that she couldn't help wandering over. And information, as handy as it was, it didn't keep her attention as much as the hands-on stuff.

She walks up beside the boy, hands in her back pockets, leaning forward. ]

Look at that. I certainly don't remember seeing those when I arrived. Weird, huh?

Really weird. And interesting. [the girl got a wider grin, a little-boy-who-just-found-a-gross-bug sort of grin. suddenly springing random questions on a complete stranger didn't seem to faze him.]

How long ago'd you arrive? It was recently, right?

The meeting is done and you are now a Greeter, or on your way to be one. You filled out the paper work and toured around the place. It was informative at least, and the pay isn’t too bad. But now you have a itch at your nose and eyes, a scratch at the back of your throat. You’ve barely left the group before you feel a little sick to your belly.

How far did you get before you felt the need to throw up? How long did it take before that tree over there started talking to you, or that car over there appeared to be grinning at you? Were you still at the Apartments when it started? Did you make it home first? Are you here with friends or alone, or did you stick with a group of people all feeling ill now? Feel free to bring others into this thread to help deal with the sickness.

Emma leaves very early, since she's feeling unwell and isn't planning on actually becoming a Greeter. About a block away she feels nauseous, stops and deliberately throws up, then turns away and heads directly for the Newcomer Clinic.
