[There is a vampire serving drinks, and as much as it is a menial job, Eric is actually very good at it. When there's a rush on he just uses his speed, blurring up and down the bar and delivering the drinks into the hands of the expectant customers. And then slips away back to his schmoozing, or his office or wherever.

Feel free to speak to him in his office, behind the bar or in the club itself. He's in a remarkably good mood, mostly because nothing's kicked off and things seem to be going well. All he could ask for on an opening night, really.]

[ The trouble with vampires are their enhanced senses. Their hearing, for one. He's wearing a biorhythm-scrambler just above his heart - it'll mix the sound of his heartbeat, rendering it as close to unrecognizable from Bruce Wayne's as possible. It's the same thing that he wears for Batman, but on an entirely different setting.

He's rather late because he has to finish his shift at 24, go to a safehouse, shower (with unscented soap because he has an inkling about a vampire's nose and a Viking's taste-), change, and come back. And Matches is waved through the door easily enough.

He takes a round through the club before he makes a beeline for Northman's office, leaning against the doorframe as he looks in. ]

Busy night fer ya, eh?

[Eric retreats to his office often during the night. He's used to just observing - an object to appease, the Sheriff of the club sat on his throne on the stage - but tonight he's been busy, and as much as he likes showing off he misses Pam, and his ever helpful bar staff.

So he sits in the back room taking some time to himself, a cheesy modern romance novel folded open neatly in one hand, and he glances up at the sound of the drawling voice. Oh wonderful. Yes, he does look the part. Smells it, too. The masculinity is appealing, even if Eric doesn't care much for the beard--reminds him too much of the French style that was so popular a few hundred years ago. Bristley.]

You could say that. Close the door behind you.

[ The beard is a diversion along with the sunglasses and the match permanently stuck to his lips, helping to convince those stubborn enough to try to draw links between Matches Malone and Bruce Wayne despite the wildly different accents, interests, spoken history and posture.

He spares a glance for the romance novel before walking forward and dropping down in the seat. Automatically, he slouches down against it before turning around, taking a scan of the room and schooling his expression into something appreciative even as he starts to piece together the clues, the hints contained in the room about Eric Northman's personality.

He cocks his head to the side. ]

Thought you'd be out there, socializin' with the masses. [ He grins, all white teeth stark against the match in his mouth. ] It's the hottest 'our, ain't it?

[To say Raphael looks uncomfortable is an understatement. Not only is the music here absolutely dreadful, pounding in his ears with no sense of melody, but he's getting the feeling that he is the only one whose fine 16th century-style jacket is authentic and not just some cheap imitation.

Why did he come here? Well... perhaps because he wanted to see what the place was like. He was still quite new at accepting this "vampire" label applied to him. Perhaps this place would have something to offer him.

More importantly, though, perhaps it would give Amy a chance to speak to people who would accept her. He stands off to the side of the room, uneasy, but watching her like a hawk.]

[She's only seen him once before but it's not like her to forget a face. She's been looking for Amy tonight, hoping that she's been doing well and that this place will give her a new outlet to be herself.

She didn't expect to see her father there. They were probably thinking along the same lines.]

How's she doing?

Madamoiselle Mayer. [He greets her rather curtly.]

It's hard to say. It takes her a while to feel comfortable anywhere.

Mr. Sorel.

[She gives him a faint dip of her head out of respect and then she turns her eyes back to the crowds.]

This place is too crowded, anyway. I hope that doesn't bother her too much.

[Goth and rock music? EVENTUALLY! Andrea has been missing her usual dose of heavy metal. Problem is, she has no money whatsoever. Still, she is a St. Trinian, and St. Trinian's girls have quite the reputation of doing exactly what they want whether it goes against the rules or not. So she puts on a cool face and tries to sneak past the bouncers on the door.]

[ By all rights, Zoey should have learned her lesson about going into bars that belongs to AGI or SERO. But what the hell, a vampire bar, she has to check that out in the name of . . . Undead Genre Investigation. (If that's not a force in the police department, it should be.)

So she's checking it out, and yep, your typical color association for vampires is there - black and red, all decked out.

Makes her wonder what else is going to confirm your stereotypical idea for vampirism. ]

[Well, Raphael is pretty stereotypical vampire, if only by merit of his original time period. He's walking past her, still scoping out anyone who dares to approach his daughter, when he crashes into Zoey's shoulder.]

I beg your pardon, Madamoiselle.

[ She might ask him if he ever met Lestat sob.

Zoey jerks forward from the bump and looks over her shoulder. ]

Oh, it's okay.

You do not seem the type to come to an event such as this.

[Though you do look delicious.]

[Tyki said he was curious, and he is - enough to hit opening night and pay out, at least. He looks quite dapper, and he's not sure he wants to be bitten by anyone at all yet, but he's curious enough to observe. For the moment, he's kicked back easily at one of the free tables, alone but watching.]

[He's being watched as well, since Raphael is making damn sure he investigates everyone in the room, gets a sense for them... ensures that they aren't keeping their eyes on Amy for any reason.

He makes eye contact with the young man but says nothing to him, simply waiting off to the side.]

[Your daughter is cute, Raphael, and if she was a little older Tyki might...

At least, if she LOOKED a little older. For now, her apparent age keeps Tyki from creeping too much on her. He does give Raphael a lazy smile upon eye contact, though, moving out of the older man's line of vision a moment later.]

[GOOD BECAUSE SHE'S 14 AND DADDY WILL GUT YOU LIKE A FISH.

Raphael approaches finally after the smile.]

Enjoying the party?
