I'm of a mind to apply at the library for a position in the coming week. The city is vast and varied culturally, even among natives, and there are many willing to help a newcomer. I'm sure those reassurances are often quite deliberate. [He can guess who you're talking about, but the meaning of the sentence is very obtuse, so he doesn't say so outright.]
I have a lot to think about lately, as you can imagine. I recently returned from the dead, and it gives you plenty to ruminate over.
