[In the park today, a sleeping puppy in his lap, Light looks peaceful, hair lifted by a light breeze. He's out here to get away from everything going on at the house, and the peace and quiet has let him think. The sunshine coming in through the leafy canopy that shades him casts his face in mottled light and shadow, and makes his vermillion shirt ( Read more... )

A "warrior for the future." Well - since you talked about nothing but the past, truly, do share. What is your grand vision?

My 'grand vision' is very much the same as yours, Edgeworth. The end of the corruption and injustice that possess this city, and a disbalancing of the foothold of mere companies in things that do not concern them.

And do share how you'll enact it.

By being outspoken and confident, of course. Not by violence or attack, but in the same way as you would do it, Edgeworth. I will become a voice that they cannot help but listen to.

By means of your power, I suppose.

Perhaps. It's in me to play as dirty as necessary, if I have to. They won't set aside their powers, so should I?

Excellent to hear. Usually, people at least attempt to take the high road before submitting to their methods. It's fascinating to see just how below average you are.

I said I intended to be honest. This is a city of powers, and I am powered alongside them. I said I wouldn't bow my head any longer, and I won't. If they use theirs against me, I assure you that I won't back down. It really is that simple.

And so you make them think what they would not think otherwise. An excellent substitute for a lack of ability in discourse.

I didn't say I wouldn't try otherwise first. Once again, you jump to the worst possible scenario. All I'm saying is I won't let them use their powers to rampage all over me, while doing nothing to defend myself--something you do very well, as I recall: letting other people hurt you for the sake of your beliefs.

I beg your pardon.

I am saying, Edgeworth, that the way you responded to Kadaj and Yazoo was deliberately baiting, as though you wanted to get yourself killed. You took so long to convince that you weren't just imagining the powers of other people--I'm still not entirely certain that you consider them enough of a threat yo your well being.

How was I supposed to respond to them? Would you have had me cower?

There are other ways. Maybe ways that you would see as being on the wrong side of the law, when there are police to handle it, but ways that would have guaranteed your safety. Rather than having people come to pick up the pieces of you, you could have had them at your side to begin with.

"Pick up the pieces"? Did you think me broken, Yagami?

Honestly--no. You're only as brittle as your resolve, and you have that in spades, but they almost killed you this time and this won't be the last time, as selfdestructive as you are.
