Today we got our Saints season tickets, news that our chair is finally being delivered after 6(!) months and the weather is unbelievably lovely for late August with low humidity and breeziness. And I have the prospect of a long holiday weekend to look forward to that will include brunch with old friends from my San Francisco days.

I know that nolagrl is with me on this.

If Ernesto messes up our late season Alabama beach vacation like Ivan did in 2004, we are going to have to file a class action suit against Poseidon (a.k.a. Last evening, the wonderful nolagrl and I celebrated our Leo birthdays at The Columns with tequila & tonics. Cheers to us for surviving this last year of upheaval in our fair city! Cheers to this new year of change and adventure! Cheers to worrying not so much!

Tonight, Juannie and I are going to a party at Roger & Rico's. We are gathering to see two friends who moved away after their house in New Orleans was devastated from the flooding. Another day of Jazz Fest! The only thing missing is Juannie. He's in Austin for more storm preparation meetings so I am off to spend the day with Roger. I will be seeing Marva Wright and Angélique Kidjo who are two of my favorite ladies ever.
