Cool! I've never heard of shoebox altars but they look wonderful. Kinda like a diorama.

Damn, I loved making dioramas when I was in intermediate school.

Once I learned what they were, I would make them ALL. THE. TIME.

If I read a book I liked --- I made one for it.

If I saw a movie I liked --- I made one for it.

If I had to turn in a report on something --- I'd figure out a way to make one for it.

I have never built a diorama but I did satisfy the urge to create minature worlds by having Barbies and Barbie furniture. I spent more time setting up their house than actually playing with the dolls.

To this day I'll spot pencil sharpeners shaped like telephones or sewing machines and I'll think - perfect size for Barbie!

Cool idea... those shoe box art works remond me of the shoe box mardi gras floats we used to make in school. But what are "Katrina diamonds"?

little broken bits of glass from when they gutted my house, big heavy chunks instead of shards, multi-faceted even. I picked up 63 of them out of three spots in the yard.
