Thanks! I've been absent from the LJ community, how've you been?

Not so hot this year. My best friend and roomie, Eppie, died back in June. She was in a nursing home/rehab/hospital for awhile due to her health- diabetes and asthma. She dies on June 22nd when she was suppose to come home on July 3rd.

Her hubbie and I are dealing, but we miss her a lot.

Before that Dave & Eppie lost Undie, a black cat they had had for a long time. But about a month before that, we adopted a young black & white that had been hanging around the building here. I found out she had been thrown out by her original humans and was not going to let that stand! She is a sweetie.

That was Dec. 16th, two days after the Sandy Hook elementary school shooting and the same day I found out a young cousin goes there! She's the granddaughter of my stepmom's brother Tim. But she goes to afternoon kindergarten and wasn't there, but her classroom was one of the ones shot up.

So it's been a year. At least there was good stuff to balance the bad.
