Dear friend: I enjoy immenselly your review of this magnific Russia-SH serie, and you added photographs too, very good. I love this work, and hope perhaps someday I could see "with my own eyes" in house the whole serie. By now, very few of Sherlockiana is available here in South America (you don't believe me? Well, yet isn't to buy the Rathbone/Bruce serie in DVD, only VHS, neither Brett-serie ( ... )

Glad you've enjoyed the review, and yes I will probably continue. In answer to your question about why they are boxing:

Watson is talking with his friend Stamford about Holmes, Stamford tells him that Holmes goes in for boxing and Watson replies he can check that. He thinks that Holmes is a criminal and intends to get the truth, and since he was the regiment champion boxer he decides to get the truth out of Holmes in a boxing match.

When Holmes tells him he is a detective Watson is a bit upset with himself for coming to wrong conclusion.

Livanov's laugh is the best thing created :)

I hope you will see the rest of the russian series soon and like it also, especially the famous "The Hound of the Baskervilles".

Yeah, the misic of the series is a treasure in its own class.
I remeber I couldn't sleep after watching the Hound for the first time, I was 10 years old and I saw it on tv at the summerhouse in the woods. I kept hearing the cry of the Hound. :-))))

Thanks for your interesting records about this serial. It was interesting to learn opinion from the English girl about Russian mr. Holmes. I hope, you continue to look the film and to write your impressions.

First time I've seen this serial 10 or 15 years ago. Since then I would like to know, how does the English takes it for. And thanks you for your attention to the details, it was really interesting to learn something new about good old film.
