Half of the Moon
Chapter Five
By: Sharl/zielddhy
The sunlight that streamed through the glass window looked incredibly pretty. Other people might think it was normal scenery, but to Junsu it seemed incredibly beautiful especially during morning with the birds singing happily outside. So different with the mood inside the house, Junsu thought gloomily. Even with Changmin blocking his thoughts from the pack’s bonds, Junsu could still feel everyone’s confusion and frustration.
It was almost one week since Junsu’s first hunt, six days since he met Changmin and so far Junsu managed to avoid seeing him. One of his strategies was to hide in his room as long as possible. He only came out when he was sure Changmin had left the house, around eight or nine in the morning to go to work. Usually by the time he arrived downstairs almost everyone had finished breakfast but Junsu didn’t mind if he didn’t get a single crumb.
And this morning it was also the same. Junsu preferred to stay in his room, watching the sunlight, listening to the birds outside and it wasn’t until there was the sound of gravel crunching outside. He peeked out from the window to see Changmin’s Audi drive off the driveway. Only by then he hopped down from the bed and went downstairs.
Jaejoong sent him a small apologetic smile when Junsu stepped into the kitchen. Almost everything had been eaten, but there was always some instant ramen in the cupboard if Junsu wanted to eat something. He didn’t have any appetite though, so he settled for a cup of tea.
“Junsu, remember the vacancy for the P.E teacher I told you about?” Donghae suddenly asked. “The headmistress wants to meet with you, think you can meet her today?”
Junsu blinked, he had nearly forgotten about that. “Sure,” he immediately agreed, “I’d love to.” A job was something he desperately needed right now. Not only would it provide him with an income, it’d serve as a distraction as well, something to keep him busy. Besides, he had stayed in Yunho’s pack for almost a month; it’s about time he paid his share for the groceries.

The headmistress was a strict woman, but she was good at her job and when you’re running a school full of teenagers you could hardly afford leniency, or that was what the headmistress told him. Although according to Donghae, the students actually treated you better if you’re more of a friend rather than a teacher.
Junsu had no previous experiences as a teacher before but he was eager to try and the headmistress liked him immediately. He’d start teaching the very next day.
The other pack members cheered at the good news and they immediately agreed to have a dinner celebration. They had barbeque in the yard, Siwon was given the job to grill meat so that Minho could wrap them in leaves. Jaejoong and Yoohwan were making side dishes while Yoochun spiked few drinks. Junsu was having a good time, he was happy and watching Donghae and Eunhyuk got assigned to clean everything up under Yunho’s watchful eyes was definitely funny.
However he was mindful that Changmin had to work late that night and by the time he heard a car approaching, Junsu rushed to his room immediately, food in his plate half-eaten. He already had six successful days of avoiding his mate, surely he could add one more day to that tally.

Five days since he started working as a P.E. teacher, Junsu thought it was one of the best ideas he had ever had. Having a job allowed his mind to think about something else rather than Changmin and because the school was over by 3 PM, he figured he could have another job. He found one at the city’s library, working on the second shift of their staffs. Yoohwan balked at the idea, saying that Junsu would be too tired when he came home every night and it wouldn’t be good for his health in the long run.
But Junsu insisted, so there was nothing Yoohwan could do especially because he knew what the real reason was. Junsu was determined to avoid Changmin at all costs, even if it meant working himself to death. At least this way he didn’t have to meet with his mate and get rejected again and again.

Wolf was upset.
Junsu knew that and he could hardly blame him. It wasn’t easy of course, knowing that your mate was so near, so close and yet it was impossible to be with him. He tried to comfort Wolf, but it only made Wolf even more upset. He knew this was not Junsu’s fault, but he was angry at Changmin and his Wolf. And day by day, the feeling got worse. Junsu’s control of Wolf weakened and he felt the need to vent his frustration through other ways. Physical exercises helped, but it wasn’t enough.
On Friday it felt like his Wolf was about to break free. Wolf’s anger swirled around Junsu’s human emotion and even Siwon who mostly kept to himself started to notice that there was something wrong and asked him. Junsu nearly snapped at Siwon as a result. Thank goodness the school was off that day or maybe he’d started taking it out on his students.
Yunho kindly suggested Junsu to go for a run in the forest around the house; it’d help him to clear his head a bit and maybe gain some control back from and on his Wolf. As Junsu ran, he tried to talk to Wolf again but all he could feel was Wolf’s frustration. Wolf missed Changmin; after all it had been two weeks since he last saw him. If Junsu didn’t know any better, he would’ve thought that the dominant was avoiding him as well.
The run didn’t really help and finally after almost an hour Junsu decided to stop. He went back to the mansion and stopped, frozen in his tracks in the driveway. Changmin was there he had just parked his car and turned the engine off. The tall male was dressed in a suit and looked incredible in it. Wolf was nervous, a tendril of hope slithering in Junsu’s mind. Maybe after two weeks Changmin can accept the fact a bit better that his mate was a submissive.
Junsu couldn’t stop the whine escaping him and it was what made Changmin notice him. He looked over Junsu’s sweaty form, noting the panting breath and tired expression before sneering, “A bit of run and you’re already out of breath? Weakling.”
Suddenly a burst of hot fury went through Junsu. Wolf was growling in his head and Junsu could only think, how dare he? I am not weak, we are NOT weak!
Before he could stop himself, he was already in front of Changmin and Junsu was sure his eyes held a bit of gold in them. Changmin looked stunned, not expecting Junsu’s sudden anger. “You know what?” Junsu growled, “You can go to hell. You don’t want to admit that I’m here, fine, that’s your choice. But if you think I’m going to accept every fucking insult you throw at me, you’re sorely mistaken, you miserable excuse of a wolf.”
Junsu immediately gasped after realizing what he had just said. Changmin was still looking at him, disbelief in his face and Junsu used that opportunity to run inside the house. He barreled to his room, closing and locking the door although he knew it was somewhat futile. The door would crumble if Changmin decided to break it. And so he mentally shouted for Yunho or Jaejoong, the only people he knew that could somehow prevent Changmin from killing him.
He decided to call in sick for his library job, not really caring if it would leave a bad impression to his boss but right now his own safety was more important.

Miraculously Junsu was still alive. He woke up the next day, feeling somewhat amazed that he was actually still breathing. He tried to hear for any kind of disturbances in the house, however there were none. Maybe Junsu was too paranoid, but he did go against an incredibly dominant wolf in the worst way possible, calling him names and other stuff.
Junsu rolled over the bed, burying his face in the fluffy pillow and screamed his heart out. The pillow would only muffle his scream a bit, and it wasn’t really effective when you’re living in a house full of werewolves but everything helped.
Five minutes later someone knocked at the door and Minho’s head popped in.”Hey, you awake? Yunho wants to see you.”
“What?”
Minho stepped inside. “I don’t know what’s going on, but he wants to see you and Changmin.”
Junsu groaned out loud and Minho gave him an apologetic look complete with a pat on the head. “Come on, it’s not good to keep Yunho waiting.”
“I’ll be there in fifteen minutes. I need to take a shower first.”
“Okay.”
With one last huff, Junsu got up and headed to the bathroom. It took him less than ten minutes to finish showering, but he took his time going downstairs, wanting to delay the inevitable as long as possible. Yunho must have heard what happened yesterday even when Junsu refused to say anything and although Changmin was still blocking himself from the pack maybe he had talked to the Alpha. And Junsu was getting punished as a result of his action stepping out from the rank.
However there was only Yunho and Jaejoong in the living room. Junsu could hear the others making breakfast in the kitchen, but without Jaejoong there probably they were making a disaster rather than breakfast. At least Yoohwan was there so hopefully they could produce something edible for Junsu’s last meal in this world.
“Hey Junsu,” Jaejoong greeted with a smile, “take a seat, Changmin will be here soon, he’s still in the shower.”
Yunho didn’t say anything but Jaejoong was still smiling at him and it calmed Junsu’s nerves a bit. Nobody spoke out loud as they waited for Changmin, although perhaps Jaejoong and Yunho were speaking privately through their bond.
Finally the Second arrived and without even a hello, Yunho immediately spoke. “You,” he pointed at Changmin, “are going to spend time with Junsu. There’s a cabin southeast from here, I’ll come back and pick you two up within four days. It’s about time you two decide what to do with your mate bond.”
