Homework and musings...

Well, I'm up past my bedtime but it's worth it 'cause I got all my homework done! ('xcept for the reading I'm saving so I don't fall asleep or get on the computer in between classes tomorrow. Self, I know thee. Though I'd like to read my Terry Pratchett book, Soul Music, instead ( Read more... )

Well, see, I do that in English too. *grins*

*hugs* It sounds like you're having a wonderful time in Spain--I'm so glad. What's the total immersion experience like? Do you find yourself doing better or worse, overall, in Spanish than you expected?

*raises hand* I know from experience that I'm much better at memorizing the table stacked with tools than the list of items. Lists foils me unless I actually have the list with me; a table I can just take a brainy snapshot of and go back over later.

.... candy? :D?

Myself, I remember stuff best if I write it down--just looking at a list of words is only slightly better than looking at the objects themselves. S'like names--I probably won't remember it to well if you tell me your name, and I won't remember it very well if I stare at a picture of you with your name printed underneath, but goshdarnit if I spell your name out I'll remember it forever!

I tend to remember objects and not their names. ^^;

squeak: Yeah it's ah...uh, crap. The three pointed thingy, with the--triangle! It's a triangle!

I kid you not, I've done that. ...Or said "square" and then hit my head and went "triangle!" Not...sure that's exactly what you're talking about here though. ^^;

*loves upon*

Have you ever done the test where there's row of shapes--star, square, circle, oval, etc.--labelled with the wrong names--square, oval, rectangle, triangle, etc.? And you have to read aloud the names that are printed on the shapes, not the names of the shapes themselves. It's kinda tough and quite funny.

Indeed I have. And I screw it up every time. (Also with the red circle but is labeled green, etc. test.)

Ooh, Soul Music; that's such a good book. (This should not, however, be taken as encouragement to read it instead of your school assignments because school is much more important, and it has deadlines, and insert lecture about the value of time management and prioritizing and all those other things I never seem to do ^^;.)

I was very good and responsible and left Soul Music at home instead of bringing it to school with me, because I knew that if I brought it I'd end up reading it.

Unfortunately, I also did not bring the books I need to complete my homework for tomorrow...so I ended up in the computer lab anyway! *will try to get Creative Writing assignment done instead*
