dyed red linen - pics to show it happened

 on the theory that pictures or it didn't happen - yesterday afternoon I dyed the fire engine red linen to a burgundy.  I'm miffed that my camera won't get the colours right.  I put a red linen parasol - same genuinely fire engine red - next to the transformed fabric. Forgot to keep a sample of the original colour.

It was the only way to stand a chance of having the right fabric. The new Jacquard i-dye is so much easier. the sachet dissolves in the washing machine, and then you add the already wet fabric & watch it wash. My big problem is that cos it's linen it needed to be warm water - didn't need hot :-D and my laundry only has cold water. Thank goodness for an 50-60 year old gas heated copper.
