W00T! Sunlight Solar showed up this morning with building permits for me to sign. Looks like the 6.5kw array will go in two weeks from now!

Haven't posted on here in forever, but I still exist. Some reasonably exciting stuff is going on. I recently managed to buy (with a few other investors) the 5'x10' moving table router from where I work. We had riggers move it over to Artisans Asylum. National Grid Incentives

Looked at the national grid site last night looking to see if they had new incentive programs that I didn't know of. In addition to the 75% off insulation up to $2000 they have this new program - Super insulation upgrades - Deep Energy Retrofit. In a nutshell they have up to 40K of incentives for single family homes and more for multi-families, ( Read more... )

I had my first solar company come out and give me a quote. I am looking to put up Sunpower panels as they have 19% efficiency vs an industry typical 14%, and I have limited roof area ( Read more... )

Firefly / Pendulum cradle fail

While raising the last section of the pendulum cradle at firefly one of the legs buckled causing a rather spectacular chain of failures that resulted in a rather large pile of firewood. Sad as I was really looking forward to seeing it lit up at night. I think I will build a new cradle next year out of aluminum. The bright side of this is that I get ( Read more... )

Here is the structure we built at radioactiverich's house in Wilmington today. Thanks to all that came out and helped!!!! Tomorrow (sunday) we will hang the pendulums, wire them and calibrate their lengths. If you want to come help or check it out stop by :)
