Ah, yes, I see that a lot. It actually troubles me a little bit because I can't help but see parallels to the idea of a woman coming without her clit being touched...and this sense that orgasm from vaginal stimulation alone is somehow "better" than sex in which one partner has to stimulate the clitoris. No, I don't think you are imagining the connection. I think you are absolutley right. There is still a strong implication in many fics, in popular culture, in society in general, that penis-in-vagina is "real sex," that orgasms from penetration are better. It is a little tiring and definitely het-male identified.

Yes, exactly. I used to hang out on some sex advice message boards (not sure why I found them so fascinating! *wink*) and there were so many young women who posted to ask why they couldn't reach orgasm via penetration alone, and was there something wrong with them? :-( Luckily there were plenty of other women there to post about the joys of the clitoris.
