Blackstone Lobby iamaman_punch June 22 2011, 05:33:01 UTC
Linkara waited by the doors of the Blackstone, keeping an eye out for the people he knew to be coming. He had strong friends here - that much was obvious. He was fairly certain that would be more than enough, but...this was Mechakara they were dealing with, and Judas Liz, and Franky - who knew what they had done to Franky - which meant there would likely be surprises, and not necessarily good ones.

Still. It wasn't as though he had much of a choice. He wanted that bucket of bolts out of commission as soon as possible, and if Judas went down with him, Linkara would have no problem with it.

And so he waited. He wasn't going to wait for very long.

He would not have to wait long. Jennifer arrived, wearing just a pair of jeans over her body suit, glasses already abandoned somewhere. She approached him quietly, making just enough noise to get noticed. But she was still beyond mustering a smile.

"Hey."

The Ninja-Style Dancer was the second to arrive, as he had gone ahead of Harvey Finevoice, not needing much time to prepare. He was as silent as ever entering the lobby, nodding to Linkara as they made eye contact.

Try as she might, Aqua couldn't help but be reminded of the last time she and her friends had stood together against a doe they had little chance of winning against. But that had been before. The past didn't need to repeat itself (and hopefully wouldn't).

And if she was looking a good deal more serious then usual as she made her appearance in the hotel's lobby, well, it wasn't like she didn't have good reason to.

It hungered.

It writhed and ached and snarled in its desire, its overwhelming lust to--to just go. It wanted out. Needed out.

And its time was here. Bloodshot and bulging eyes were set out the window. There, said its captor. There was its feast. There was just the start. All it had to do. Was go, and take, and oh how it would relish the moment. Its breath had gone quick as it thought of it, of ripping through those small, little bags of ( ... )

The Ninja-Style Dancer wanted to stay behind and fight the vampires that separated them from the others, but the approach to the building had to continue. He stayed close to Vin and Jennifer, a shuriken between his fingers and his eyes peeled for any more attackers that may further attempt to split the party.

He assumed that it wasn't far now, nearing a small cluster of apartment complexes. But suddenly a crash brought his attention to the sky, where a figure on one of the upper floors of a nearby building was suddenly falling to the ground. His senses alerted him to something, and reflexively he grabbed the two girls closest to him by the backs of their shirts and pulled them to cover just as the barrage of bullets just barely missed them.

Behind the cover of the wall, he dared a peek at their attacker. Squinting his eyes, he suddenly paled behind the mask at the hulking muscular figure that must have been at least three feet taller than he was. And much, much more heavily armed.

That...just have been Franky ( ... )

Vin frowned as they headed toward the building that Mechakara had supposedly set up his base in. She didn't like leaving the rest of the group to deal with the monsters, but there wasn't really an alternative. The vampires had clearly been a diversion, sent to slow them down from reaching their goal. They would just have to trust that the others could handle the vampires.

Not that she'd have time to dwell on it when she heard the crash from up above and turned just in time to see a giant man glaring down at them.

"Oh...." And just as suddenly she was being yanked back behind cover, an instant before the hail of gunfire tore into the ground where she'd been standing. Cursing, she ducked back behind the wall, edging as close to the corner as she dared. "Well.... I guess we found Linkara's friend."

Jennifer heard the anguished tear of metal and glass screaming over them, and then she was being yanked backwards, frowning as the bullets spattered against the ground in front of them. There seemed to be some question as to what exactly they were up against, but it must have been Franky, from what Vin said.

"He doesn't seem very friendly. Then again, neither do I." She said quietly, stepping back from the others.

Her shoulders jerked and shuddered, her arms twitching slightly as her skin turned a deep emerald green, her hair growing into a long thatch of forest green curls. Standing in Jennifer's place was the seven foot Amazon, who walked over and picked up a piece of rebar that had come out of the building when Franky appeared.

"So...I'm kinda pissed off today. Don't get in my way." She-Hulk said with a fierce smile.

As far as Aqua could tell, things were going about as well as could be expected. Sure, the vampires hadn't been in the plan as she'd heard it, but between the various people that had showed up she was sure that they wouldn't be too much of a problem. Someone would step forward to take care of them. Someone probably already had. But she couldn't spend the time to actually look. There was too much at stake already, and the tides of battle had effectively cut her off from anyone who might have been able to come to her aid.

But she wasn't about to back down. She was a Keyblade Master, and that meant moving forward even when you didn't know what might lie in front of you, and no matter how things might look.

Another one of those damned keybearers. Judas narrowed her eyes as she watched from one of the lower windows. Still, she couldn't be too picky. It was the standard strategy of hunting after all; pick off the one farthest away from the rest.

Frostmourne in hand and by her side, she leapt from the window, landing easily in front of Aqua. Taking only a second to let the shock from the landing pass, she stood, giving the girl a wicked stare as she raised her sword.

There was a moment of stony silence as Aqua glared back at her. There was little mistaking who this was and the time between now and when Terra had mentioned her deception had done little to calm her feelings.

A brief moment of concentration later, Brightcrest appeared in Aqua's hand. She wasn't about to back down from the fight, and if he opponent had hoped the sight of that sword would scare her, then she had best think again.

Judas Liz didn't expect her opponent to be intimidated away from the sight of her blade. In fact she was counting on the girl to fight back. It was better that way, and part of her wanted to prove that she was better than these silly-looking keys and their magic.

She readied herself in a stable fighting stance, Frostmourne at the ready, and with her free hand she beckoned Aqua to come at her. But she was not so cocky as to let her guard down; she was not going to forget Mechakara's warning, especially with that bump on the head still fresh in her memory.

The robot had promised them blood, in the form this group of people coming down the street in a hurry. The sun had set far enough for them to be able to be able to move.

It was time to go.

The group of black court vampires dropped down from above, fangs bared, effectively cutting three of the group off from their compatriots. It was dinnertime, after all, and they were hungry.

On the way to find this dark doppleganger, they were suddenly intercepted by more of the black court vampires, who appeared to have been waiting for them. It was obvious this had been a setup. Eraqus grimaced as he watched his two apprentices carry on running ahead...he and two others had been cut off.

But not for long, if he could help it. He had certainly had enough of these things interfering with more important matters. Eraqus focused his strength and summoned his Keyblade. The moment it was in his hand, he charged at their foes, ready for any fight they would give.

Vampires. Now that was an odd thing to see when he'd been pretty sure that they were supposed to be taking care of a different sort of problem altogether. But hey, he'd taking fighting vampires. He was good at that and someone was going to have to take care of them.

Still, he could help but stare for a moment at the sight of the man summoning a Keyblade. He'd thought that only Sora and Roxas could manage those. But there wasn't time to dwell on that. They had vampires to deal with. A moment of concentration brought his own weapons to hand, and he sent one of the pair at the nearest vampire. Time to get down to business.

Eraqus noticed that one of those fighting with him was the strange man who had entered the hotel through a portal of darkness...and obviously, those were only used by those of strong darkness. But there was no time to ask about that now; the vampires were obviously the immediate threat.

He concentrated on the vampire closest to him, charging forward and slashing hard at its midsection. While it was still reeling, he pulled back and jabbed at it with a hard sonic blade-like move. The Keyblade hit it with enough force to knock it to the ground. Eraqus figured it wouldn't be down that easily, however.

TEAM MECHAKARA iamaman_punch June 29 2011, 05:56:25 UTC
He'd had it. Linkara was done with things going wrong, with his friends getting attacked, with the half of his problems that couldn't be attributed to the city itself going back to the robot that had followed him here like a stray and rather rabid dog, and no, he didn't want to keep him.

It was time to finish things.

"Mechakara!" Gun in hand, Linkara glanced around the street that was rapidly becoming a battlefield; just because the robot hadn't shown itself yet didn't mean it wasn't going to happen. "You're through!"

The keyblade was already in Terra's hand, ready to be used at a moment's notice. He bore the weight of it on his shoulder, trying not to think too hard about what the others were facing. He had to have faith that they would be okay because Linkara would need his help in this and it hadn't exactly been in the plan to split up.

As usual though, Terra was quiet. He wasn't much for witty dialogue exchange.

Watching out the window - or, rather, what was left of the window - Mechakara was very pleased with himself. Turning one of Linkara's friends against him was quite satisfying, especially when it was something with such great destructive potential.

But that didn't mean he intended to leave everything to Franky. The robot turned to leave, and by the time he heard Linkara's challenge he was already on the ground floor of the apartment building. He stepped out into the street, a smug smirk on his face. "Don't be so sure," he replied, gesturing towards where Franky was generally causing a whirlwind of destruction and chaos. "You are not the only one with help this time." Those humans nearby were going to die; Linkara should know what he'd gotten them into.

He spared a sidelong glance towards Franky's end of the battle - it didn't look good, no, but the way he was going, Linkara knew he couldn't keep it up forever. "Believe me, that won't last long." He pointed the gun at Mechakara, hands steady even though he knew it wouldn't work. More than anything, he was glad to have Terra backing him up right now. "Come to think of it, neither will you." He pulled the trigger, sending a blast of magic towards Mechakara.

There was no turning back now.
