The title company will automatically put the title into his name, if he got the loan. He can change that if he keeps his word, by the time the car is paid off. Assuming you are still together.

I would write up a contract, get it notarized and keep records of every single car payment to prove you paid it.

There is no harm in protecting your rights.

Yes on all of the above. And get a witness or two for the contract, if you are able.

So, having my name on registration pretty much means nothing, right?

My girlfriend has a 5 scoop ice cream cone. Each of the 5 scoops is a different flavor of ice cream. The five flavors are blueberry, chocolate, strawberry, vanilla and bubble gum.

I don't know what order her ice cream flavors are from top to bottom. However, I got some some clues to help me figure out what flavors are from top to bottom:

1. The bottom flavor has 10 letters.
2. The vanilla scoop touches both the chocolate and blueberry scoop.
3. Vanilla is below the chocolate scoop but above the bubblegum scoop.

Wondering if you can help me figure out the order of scoops by flavor?

i'm not an attorney, and i am full of hot air, and a little sleepy, but here it is:

your boyfriend owns a car! and he owes a bank! you want to own the car! if you want to own the car, pay the bank what they're owed, and then your boyfriend can transfer the title to you.

the bank won't allow anyone else on the title, because they hold a note, and that note says your boyfriend owes them.

logic is like drippy melted chewing gum on the bottom of my shoe. it just won't go away, it smells nice, but it screws things up sometimes.

I went through this once with an ex. In my case, I was the one with the loan and he was supposed to be paying it off. He had nothing to do with the loan, but the dealership put his name on the registration. I ended up paying off the loan, and I had to go through hell to get his name off the title when the vehicle was paid for. So, from experience, yes. If your name is on the registration, it will be on the title too.

Huge thank you! lol_creep November 23 2011, 03:37:20 UTC
I am sorry about the douche ex. That is an awful thing to do to anybody, especially to someone who you were once close to. And thank you for sharing your story, you answered my question and put my worries to rest... well, at least some of them, anyway :)
