May 22, 2004 13:56

I've always liked having an open journal. I would very much dislike if my coworkers (or horror) my students read my LJ even though I hardly post anything controversial or very personal (yet). Since I live and work in Germany I just trust that no-one I know will stumble upon it, but otherwise, yeah, I would friends-lock it in a minute.

It's definitely not a good feeling. I like having my journal open to other fans, but co-workers are a different matter entirely!

Pressing the 'add' button now. I'm also another lurker that would miss reading you regularly. (And neither co-worker or family member! Just a fan of your writing and ideas.)

I just friended you back. Welcome!

I'm still hanging on to an open journal, but I think I'll probably go this route eventually. Can't imagine my born again, evangelical coworkers reading my stuff *G*.

My co-workers aren't even born again Christians, and I shudder at the thought of them reading my LJ! *g*

I'll miss having an open journal, but hopefully the peace of mind I get from locking it will more than make up for it.

To me it's more an issue of privacy than of actual political disagreements. Most of the people I work with are pretty liberal, but they're still WORK people ( ... )

I totally agree. I like the people I work with, too. But I still feel that some sort of separation between work and life is not only healthy, but just a good idea for practical reasons.
