Sasori presented a fundamental problem for Deidara. First of all, he had to face the fact that Sasori wasn't quite like his other connections. This was starting to be really bothersome, but he couldn't even bring himself to think about walking away for good. He hated chains around his neck, and connections that couldn't be severed without being paralyzed were just that ( ... )

Sasori sensed Deidara come in, via faint threads of chakra attached to the apartment's windows and doors, like a spider sensing the vibrations of an insect caught by its web's strands. Would that his partner would be as easily ensnared, rather than having a habit of slipping away from him ( ... )

Heart throbbing in his ears, Deidara steered around Sasori, not looking at him, leaving plenty of room between them. Deidara knew he should take a shower, take a cold bath, an hour to soak through his anger. If he'd have to explain anything right now, he'd punch Sasori, blow up something, rip apart something, anything, anything at all.

"I'm taking a bath now, hmn," Deidara said, forcibly calm and quieted, tension riding hard on his shoulders.

An impatient hand grasped Deidara's wrist before he slipped out of reach once again. Sasori simply wasn't in the mood to be that generous; he just wanted all this to be dealt with so they could get back to behaving like partners again. Anything more was too much to hope for, he knew that.

"No. You've kept me waiting long enough," he said, his grip on Deidara's wrist unrelenting. "We're resolving this, now."

Deidara paused without even trying to yank his hand free. It balled into a tight fist instead, trembling under Sasori's hold.

"Let go of my hand," Deidara said, voice cold and hard. He needed to calm down before even thinking of dealing with this. It was just too fucking soon. He was dirty, tired and so agitated. And not in a mood to bend backwards, not right now.

He drew in a breath, slowly.

"Now."
