lent

normally I give up sweets for lent because to me, that's a huge sacrifice. I'm not this year, ironically because I have high blood sugar and need to cut down on that stuff anyway. on the one hand it feels like it's not a huge sacrifice (I mean, added onto the sacrificing I'm already doing) since I'm already cutting it out anyway. more more ( Read more... )

What kinds of fish are you guys eating? David loves it all but I really only love tuna and the dolphin types.

I'm also thinking about going meatless for Lent and seeing if it lasts. I haven't had any in over a week because I keep finding other alternatives and it's so expensive anyway.

I love catfish. we get whatever's cheap, too. pollock, whatever. also non-fish seafood. shrimp and scallops are both very high in omega 3's. chris buys anything canned (tuna, anchovies, sardines) and takes them to work with him. but he says some brands are better than others :)

I know we won't be meatless the entire lent, because we're not the only ones cooking here (but we probably do *most* of the cooking). it's just that the freezer is full of meat that'll need to be used up, too.
