Testing 1...2...3

So! This is the Smash Academy I've heard so much about! I guess this place has everything I could possibly use for my scientific research!

I guess then I better get started! It looks like there's just so much to observe and take notes on!

In fact, there is one thing I have noticed already!

Smash Academy is a place filled with many kinds of ( Read more... )

this may happen, testing

Those foreign animals... they're called Pokemon. They're sentient beings that are adept at fighting one another, usually under the guise of trainers who ensure their development.

The way you make it sound, it's almost like as if it were some form of dog fighting.

Which I hope isn't the case.

Is it?

There's a Chinese proverb that goes "Behind every able man, there are always other able men." It's not just dogfighting because the trainer and Pokemon need to have a bond, a connection - for a Pokemon is not just a tool to fight with. The best trainers have deep emotional connections with their Pokemon teams - all of them. They work together in harmony, usually.

Chinese proverbs, huh? Interesting! Taking moral lessons and putting it to everyday use!

[She is writing down that proverb later, you better believe it. For later use.]

So what you're saying is that these...Pokemon and their trainers work together to reach their goals in an friendly fashion? Like a team? Friends even?

Foreign animals? Tried to use those for science. Didn't quite work. Not enough opposable thumbs. Kept pooping everywhere too.

No better than hobos, really. Except for the thumbs part. And hobos don't go extinct!

...[WHAT IS THIS MAN. YOU ARE INTERESTING (she guessed).]

I can understand researching animals for the sake of science but USING them? Isn't that a bit inhumane?

[Of course he's interesting he's THE GUY IN CHARGE.]

You can't spell inhumane without 'human', and that's what they're not. Science never got anywhere without breaking a few eggs... or thumbs. Or legs. We can put those back together, though, don't you worry your pretty little head.

I guess that science is a bit beyond me. I'm more of a forensic scientist.

[Or so she claims. She is training SHHHH.]

Quite the astute observation, baby!

[Woah hey Waka when did you get there. You are just... sitting there near Ema. Chillin'.]

I had a feeling I wouldn't be the only one to come here. Magnifique, Miss Skye!

[Just so you know Waka, this had been noted before: Waka wears very foreign clothing that appears old fashioned Japanese. One would observe this person is from said country. Yet...speaks French.]

So you're coming here too, Waka? Looks like there's a number of us heading this way!

[He is just a total weirdo like that. A total. Freaking. Weirdo. Then again, that is probably not a rare opinion.]

Why, I'd foreseen it! Two schools are melding together and mending ties. Mon amie, I'd hardly would have expected it if I hadn't been a skilled prophet all this time.

[He leans forward and fiddles with his flute in his other hand.] Are you looking to enroll, baby?

[She doesn't think PROPHETS are all that SCIENTIFIC CORRECT but whatever, Waka was an okay dude so she said nothing.]

Of course! I want to see what they have in store for their science department! Yourself? For some reason, I could see you being some teacher!

Can we take notes on space? And observe space?

...

Because I wanna go to space.

Reply

using_science August 6 2011, 21:51:17 UTC
...Space?

You should go talk to the space program or something. I'm not qualified as an astronaut.

mine_is_space August 7 2011, 19:40:49 UTC
You need to be an astronaut to go to space?

I need to become an astronaut so I can go to space. Hey. Hey. Hey lady. Lady. Space. Gotta go to space. Gotta. Gotta go.

using_science August 7 2011, 21:56:25 UTC
But you're a robot...thingie, right?

Maybe an astronaut can just help you get to space. I'm sure you could do something out there?

But why to you have to go to space so bad anyway?

[Can robots function in space? Will research later.]

What kind of science are you doing?

Hopefully not the kind where you develop homicidal AIs.]

[Ah well, she looked like she was reading whatever she wrote.]

I see you've noticed this.

It's all just filled with observations or things that are worth researching later. For the most part!
