Jounouchi showed up to the park and the pre-arranged time, Duel Disk at the ready. It seemed like it had been forever since he'd been able to really duel someday. He had psyched himself up mentally, but he couldn't help but feel a hint of anxiety tug at him. His opponent was the King of Games and this duel wouldn't be easily won.

"Alright!" Jounouchi said, finally standing opposite from the Pharaoh. He pulled his deck from his pocket and began shuffling it rapidly. "You ready for this?"

Atem smiled at his friend across the field, glad to see that he'd turned up. Even with his nerves somewhat frayed, he had no cause to be callous with Jounouchi. "More than ready." He greeted back, finishing his shuffling and pushing the deck into the deck slot. The LP counter woke up with quite a happy little chirp.

He then raised his arm, activating the plates down into Duel Mode. His heart was already beating rapidly, the adrenaline rushing just from the simple knowledge that a duel was about to commence. He loved this game so very much. It was almost all that he was.

"Duel!"

Once he'd finished with his shuffling, he prepared his Duel Disk in a similar manner to Atem. "It's been too long..." Jounouchi spoke to the machine on his arm, smiling lightly. He'd always felt alive on the field and he had dearly missed this particular brand of adrenaline.

"Duel!" Jounouchi shouted in unison with Atem. He drew his hand and smirked, staring down his opponent.

"I'll go first- Draw!" He announced. His opening hand of five was drawn with all the grace of his usual flourish, and then one more card was placed in his hand. Monster, spell, spell, monster, monster, spell. It didn't immediately register on his face, but when the strategy chained up in his mind, his eyes widened for just a brief second.

Then they lowered. He was not known for pulling his punches. But this? Was this something he wanted to be known for too? However the move was almost too perfect not to play. His deck was part of him, and if it gave him this opening hand, that meant it wanted to be played this way. He would never be able to convince himself otherwise ( ... )

As she had told the other before, she would be present for the duel. Cissnei had been to one or two that had taken place on the island before, but this time instead of admiring the graphics and paying attention to the people, she had intended to watch more of the strategy and the game itself. After all, she had a few teachers in learning how to play Duel Monsters now.

How quickly it had come and gone seemed ... Strange to her. The others seemed shocked about it- Cissnei just confused . '...Was that even in the rules?'

One of the others around might be able to noticed the puzzled look on her face.

Yuugi had been there, as well. Of course, how could he miss it? It was a duel between his other self and his best friend. It should have been glorious, right ( ... )

Once he was done just standing on the battlefield he turned to the others that seemed to have come. He wasn't sure of when, but he'd been so absorbed by things that that only made sense to him. His body was tight with adrenaline as he moved over to them.

"Sorry. That's not the way things should have went." Apologizing to a new Duelist- Cissnei. She should have witnessed an hour long duel or something. One turn... Even if he thought it was amazing himself, she probably wasn't very interested.

And he smiled at Yuugi. "You're probably pretty disappointed too." One turn. Just one turn. He almost couldn't believe it himself now that the duel was over.

Once the duel had ended, he quietly walked toward Yuugi and Cissnei. He'd noticed Kaiba was here. Awesome. This was probably going to end up on the Network so that Kaiba could gloat and mock him. It's not like he could beat Atem in a duel, either.

"Heya, Yuug." He greeted his best friend casually, though eye contact may have been avoieded. To Cissnei he offered an introductory nod. "Yo."

Maybe if you look a little ways off, away from both duelists and spectators, you'll see a flash of white. There's Kaiba, separating himself as always, even less willing to talk than usual.

In fact, the only sound that came from where he was standing was the occasional cough. There was no cheer or visible reaction when Atem struck the first time or even when he won, though if you knew him well you might notice his eyes widening slightly in surprise.

He had known Atem was good. As his rival, Atem had to be. No one was allowed to beat him but Kaiba himself. But defeating (an admittedly poor) opponent with one turn? If Kaiba Seto could ever be described so...he was stunned.

It was only after he was done talking to the others that he turned to look for Kaiba. He knew the other would be there. And perhaps he did remember hearing a cough, though it was hard to tell. Everything had been so odd.

He was tugging his jacket tighter around his shoulders, but it wasn't for warmth. He wasn't aware of that himself, feeling a few jitters from misplaced adrenaline and passing it off as being cold. Dueling always affected him so, but this one-turn thing just a little more so.

"A move like that would have made me infamous in Domino." He smirked lightly, looking up at the brunet, trying to take in his appearance. Atem was still worried about the other, after all.

"Perhaps, but now you've wasted it on a mediocrity," Kaiba said, smirking as Atem approached. There was no hint that the events of last night had affected him at all (save for that occasional cough), nor that the duel had. It was a lot of work to keep the other from suspecting that Kaiba might actually be impressed.

"It will never work on any of the people who saw it today. That knocks out anyone who matters."

"Jounouchi matters." He said with a confident nod of his head, though his eyes were still watching the brunet. Another pull of his jacket from a flyaway feeling of static in his spine. He needed to run or something, go home and drink some hot chocolate. He wasn't sure.

He did manage a shrug. "But that's alright. I think a move like that should probably only work once. Though it'll be a challenge to think of something better for our next duel." A small smile in Seto's direction, a shift in his posture, hand going to his hip.

Kagome arrived and stood off the side. She's watching them to see if she can gain some very important help. She smiles at the two guys as she moves somewhat closer to them. She's rooting for both of them!

"Good luck guys!"

Inuyasha was a bit stunned. That was total domination... and he had no idea what he just watched. And how was that guy not bleeding or dead after attacks like that he wondered.

"Kagome, what's going on? How's that guy still alive?!"

Kagome hushed him as she continued to watch the two duel.

"Shush Inuyasha, the monsters aren't real...its just part of a game."

He growls a bit but he stays quiet until the match was over.

"Well that was quick... so what was going on?"
