Chrome happened to be on her way to the lake at that moment. It had become something of a regular practice for her to go there after waking up and going through her morning rituals... it was a peaceful place. Somewhere that allowed her to be herself, or to train, or to simply admire the scenery.

The ring pressed against her fingers as she clutched her trident a little closer. Its existence did not bother her, per se, but it was rather curious to have it around in the first place.

It wasn't long before he finally made it to the lake's shore, the shift in surfaces having no effect on how he walked. However, Sasuke hadn't expected to see someone around the area, at least not at this time. Usually there wouldn't be anyone.

Dark eyes watched the girl, not recognizing her. Although she had an odd resemblance of the person who Naruto said he went out with...

Normally he wouldn't have cared who she was, just continuing on his way, but a small part of him didn't want to return to town just yet. Silence and solitude was something he valued and to be able to have it for a little while longer wouldn't hurt. Well, the silence at least. With the girl here, it wouldn't exactly be solitude.

Plus, he was a little curious as to what she was doing here. Just a little.

Chrome looked up and noticed the other as well. She immediately offered a greeting in a small curtsy.

If there was one thing he was grateful for being on this island, it was the lack of fangirls (and persons after his life). Sasuke watched her, noticing her reserved and rather respectful stance, something he hadn't seen in some time. And she was quiet, very much so.

He gave a slight nod in return, if only to return the greeting.

Dark eyes returned their gaze back to the other, narrowing very slightly in questioning, as if asking her why she was asking such a question. However, he just mentally shrugged, putting it off as something she was curious about. And if that were the case, then she was probably an only child. Thinking on that tangent reminded him of Naruto and how the blond thought of him as a brother of sorts. At least the other used to, he didn't know if he was still referred to as such ( ... )

She listened quietly to his words, and spent a good moment turning them over in her head before responding. When she did, her own look was distant.

Odd, how they seemed to be resonating on some points. They were not exactly similar, but, perhaps in terms of the circumstances...

"That is a very interesting way of looking at it."

That's the only way I've seen it.

In not so many words, he had just told his childhood before the clan massacre that had been done by the same sibling he still so admired. It had been so many years and so many things had happened to change his opinion, but Itachi had become a constant for him throughout the years even if he hadn't been physically there. And for a time, Naruto had filled in the gap, occasionally still did. But for them the lines blurred too easily.

"If you asked someone else, they would give you a different answer," Sasuke replied, knowing that his relationship with his brother wasn't like others. But that's what made them unique.

"I do not think I would have understood their answers as well as I can see yours."

It was the truth.

"We could try a kiss."

She was going to look back to this day and wonder. A whole lot. In the future.

Right to the point and without hesitation. He approved of that in a person.

Sasuke took slow steps toward Chrome, giving her the chance to change her mind before he reached her. It was probably pointless to do so, as they had agreed to try everything, but it was a chance for her to put this off until later. Never mind the fact that they wanted to have this done as quickly as possible.

But Chrome did NOT want to run away, or change her mind, in as much as a not-so-small part of her was seriously panicking over the whole situation. Her only condolence was that it had to be done, and she had chosen to act on her own. She was, after all, her own person. Not just a vessel.

She bit her lip, but held her ground nonetheless.

And it wasn't long before he was standing in front of her, staring into her uncovered eye. He was surprised that he had just realized that she wore an eye patch, but thought nothing else of it. They weren't here to exchange life stories, even if he said some of his in not so many words.

Bringing up a hand and tilting her head upward, Sasuke leaned forward, only to stop when his lips were a mere centimeter away from the other's. "Relax," he whispered.

A second later found his lips against hers.

"Ah..."

Chrome trailed off, and decided that following him without commenting was best.

At least he did not seem put off or annoyed by her. After what they had just done, that might have made things difficult.

The walk was silent between them, having nothing else to really say. The hour was getting close to lunch, so there were more people out and about, but Sasuke ignored them all in favor of locating the place that he had in mind. He'd only been there once during his time, but it was a good enough place for what they both wanted.

Minutes later he stopped in front of Salkia Cafe before turning his attention to her.

"Is this place fine?"

Chrome nodded, clutching her trident close to her person once again.

She was beginning to like this quiet... something between them.

Sasuke opened the door and went in with her, no doubt, trailing just behind him. For it to be almost mid-day, it was surprisingly empty, which suited him (them?) just fine. Better quiet and less crowded rather than noisy with too many people.

Glancing around, he spotted a somewhat isolated booth and headed in that direction, removing his sword from it's usual spot and placing it next to him as he sat down.
