Odd, how they seemed to be resonating on some points. They were not exactly similar, but, perhaps in terms of the circumstances...
"That is a very interesting way of looking at it."

In not so many words, he had just told his childhood before the clan massacre that had been done by the same sibling he still so admired. It had been so many years and so many things had happened to change his opinion, but Itachi had become a constant for him throughout the years even if he hadn't been physically there. And for a time, Naruto had filled in the gap, occasionally still did. But for them the lines blurred too easily.
"If you asked someone else, they would give you a different answer," Sasuke replied, knowing that his relationship with his brother wasn't like others. But that's what made them unique.

It was the truth.

He left out a soft "Hn" before returning his gaze back to the lake.

"Have you discovered any way to remove the rings? I have not heard much."

She was really no good with this sort of thing, but Chrome did not want to appear helpless or stupid.

Would she be willing to continue working until the rings came off?
"Tell me what you think."

Marriage? It was a little far-fetched but it was a thought and considering what the island could do, it was probably best not to toss the idea away quickly.
He looked at her. "What do you think of marriage."
Reply
"It's... it is meant to be an intimate relationship. In all senses of the word."

Thoughts of how the old clans conducted marriages came to mind. Though he didn't really care for it, he knew of a few of the clan workings in that regard. After all, there was a time when he wanted to restore his clan after killing Itachi, but with the happenings that occurred after he had done the deed, there just wasn't any time to think about it. But now this.
"Having suddenly being forced to do this, it seems like an arranged marriage to me. Loosely based on that assumption. It's not like we asked for this to happen."

It was, perhaps, a rhetorical question, but maybe, by voicing it out...

But a small part of him couldn't help but think that they were going slightly off course with this thought. Still, it was better than nowhere.

"Maybe... we should question the intentions of this partnering in the first place. And remember that there must be something that they want us to do. Together, or with each other."
