Sasuke stared at the depths as he stood in the middle of the lake. There wasn't much to see besides the occasional fish and whatever else that lurked beneath the surface. But that was one of the reasons why he liked to walk on top of the water, which was happening more often than not. It was a constant compared to the unusual happenings that was happening ever since he arrived.
Ever since that night at the ball, his thoughts had been scattered around, mostly in regards to his confusion with a certain blond. But in the end, it would just be forgotten. It had happened in the heat of the moment, and nothing would come from it. It was best to just forgot the incident ever happened.
But now he had another thing to think about, the ring that suddenly appeared on his finger. It was an annoyance that got in the way while he played with his shinobue, but he'd gotten used to it. Still, he'd rather it not be there.
Inwardly sighing, he started on his way to the shore to return to town. He'd been away long enough.
