Guys, I haven't had a plot bunny in a really long time, but the following ingredients all added up to a crazy flash of inspiration:

• My recent binging of Doctor Who (finished up last night, actually. Final thoughts forthcoming)

 So last night I pulled out the pieces of material I cut out last weekend and started following the directions to put them together.  It was slow going at times, since I'm so new at sewing and I had to interpret a lot of things that were probably obvious to pattern-reading veterans.  In any case, I am very pleased with the results:
