Portland and Salem were full of hugs, smiles, friends, and comfort all this weekend. Leaving Seattle was very rough on me this time, in spite of the fact that I won't be gone long.

As a driving tour goes, Ashland is a beautiful city even if you don't go there for the plays. The Ashland Bakery Cafe is incredible, the park is lovely (and famous for its natural mineral water), and the shopping on main streetfrom art to candy to handmade clothesis fun, too.

Now I'm missing redwoods. Thank goodness we have plenty of big trees around here. I'm not tree-starved.
