Huayi - Chinese Festival of Arts 2008 is coming!
I always thought this is one of the hippest chinese arts event
of the year.
It often showcases little gems which you might miss altogether if you aren't observant!
and many times, it has brought in some of the more
experimental performing troupes from Hong Kong and Taiwan.

firsts
i used a nasal hair trimmer for the first time in my life today.
the sound of the mechanism was scary.
i was worried and was fully prepared
that if blood spurted out the moment i poked it in,
i was to call for emergency.

i pant a lot more at the gym
and can't swim more than 6 continuous laps these days.
age has caught up
and gone ahead.
and i think i have occasional pain in my lower lumbar region.
it's freaky i can feel my lower spine
(i'm that thin?!)
and it sort of hurts as i press and knead around it.
sigh.

今天的新闻颇为精彩，
因为它的突兀性。
首先，采用长镜头，
将一个阿嫂和一个马来族收银员的对话
原封不动地播放出来，
时长几秒钟，
这在新闻影像的剪接当中是相当罕见的。
其二，
这段长镜头完全和新闻的重点毫无关系。
或者说，这个小插曲实在没有播出的必要，
因为将它抽离，宜家在环保日推行的塑料袋新措施仍然完整独立。
这样一个片断，
在无知的人看来，必然是有某种趣味性。
“真可笑，竟然闹出这样愚蠢的事来”
但我觉得这实在是让那位收银员难堪。
镜头所显示之前后究竟是怎么一个情景，我不晓得。
但我看到的是一个在服务领域工作的职员，
自动自发地以顾客能了解的语言来解释公司的措施，
最终，那位阿嫂显然是明白5分钱的中英版本，
搞得那位收银员大为尴尬。
对那位收银员，我非常敬佩你的服务精神，
也很欣慰你能在工作领域里，
