He'd miraculously found fine clothing to wear for the evening, a finely tailored white suit with blue trim, and looked up at the cathedral for the second time in the week with a stoic expression. He could hear the elegant waltzes and polkas emanating out from the halls of the grand building, and for a moment, his heart twinged with longing for home.

Glancing about in search of any familiar faces, she continued towards the doors.
"Here goes nothing..."

In an uncharacteristically morose mood as he had been in ever since Lovino vanished for the second time within a few weeks, he had been uncertain whether he wanted to attend the ball at all. He had foregone both Christmas parties, not feeling in the mood for company. Solitude, however, did not suit him, nor did brooding, and so he had hunted for the most dashing tuxedo he could find and made his way to the ball. Now that he heard the orchestra, he knew that he had made the right decision. The beautiful music, the decorations, the festive atmosphere, they all served to make his heart feel lighter, make him feel more like himself.
Without realizing it right away, Feliciano began to hum along to the music, his steps became lighter and more playful as his legs became restless with the desire to dance.

Feli froze, feeling as if he had been punched in the gut, feeling hot and cold and a bit sick all at once. The last time he had heard that voice outside of dreams and memories had been in the haunted house. What a horrible experience that had been. He was still haunted by that not-Holy Rome's cruel accusations, all the more so ever since Ludwig had confessed his love to him in his roundabout way.
But this voice... It wasn't malicious and cold, this was the Holy Roman Empire, cheerful, loving, sweet Holy Rome as he remembered him, not that horrible thing wearing his face.
He turned slightly and there he saw him rushing towards him, his Holy Rome just as he remembered him, a child nation dressed in black.
"Holy..."

No event of this sort could be complete without a nice open space for those among the city's population who might find themselves inclined to dance. The polished wood of the cathedral's floor makes for an inviting space, open and gleaming as it is with the reflected light of what appear to be either stars or fireflies floating high above it. The music is at its most obvious here, though still lacking in a clear source-- It might as well be coming from those hovering lights, or from the walls themselves. Anybody out on the dancefloor ought to have other things to focus on, however, than where the music is coming from... It's far more worthwhile to simply take advantage of its steady variety and find a partner to take out onto that shining expanse for a song or three.

"I should find someone to dance with!"

"M...Miss Goro?"
Not so much of a 'Miss' after all, or so it seemed. Breaking into a smile, she chuckled softly in surprise.
"You look fantastic!"

"Yep, it's me! Surprised?"
He blushed a little at the compliment. "Ah, t- thanks! So do you! This place looks amazing, doesn't it?"

champagne arrangements aplenty. There are smaller tables tucked off to the sides should the guests wish to sit and converse or simply rest their feet while they partake of the goodies, the lighting noticably dimmer and lending more of an air of privacy to those alcoves. What a fine place to meet up with friends... Or perhaps even get to know a new one.

"Hey, pass me the beer!" Huh, his voice sounded off. Maybe he yelled a bit too much the last few days.

"I don't think you can have beer like you, you know"
