What: A lavish, black tie gala to ring in the new year! Woo woo!
When: Nightfall of December 31, carrying on into dawn of January 1.
Where: At the Cathedral -- the Redecorated and Refurnished Cathedral. Specific location subheader threads below. :)

It seems that no sooner was the cathedral returned to normal after the holiday festivities than it's been redecorated yet again; The exterior is lit here and there with small glass ornaments shot through with silver and gold, light too bright to be mundane gleaming from where they dot the brickwork from the ground up. Higher up on the walls the metallic lights are interspersed with more colorful counterparts, from which hang long ribbons in matching tones whose ends fall to trail only a few feet above the long red carpet that leads to the high doors at the building's front.
From inside the great walls music can be faintly heard, gently echoing all the way into the building's great belltower. Those with an ear to listen will detect orchestral renditions of truly timeless classical pieces, waltzes and the like; Music truly suited for a peaceful evening of dancing and conversation with both old friends and new.
Of course no night in Ruby City can be truly peaceful though, can it? The guests at this evening's event will find themselves presented with no shortage of entertainment even if dancing isn't their style--And a select few of them may well find themselves among the entertainment on offer. It's all in good fun, of course... At least as far as the hosts see it.
