Kai's birthday!
3 years. It’s been 3 years since the love of my life came into this world. I can’t remember time ever feeling like it was moving as fast as it has in the last 3 years. 3 years ago right now I had a 3 hour old baby. When I was little, my mother used to sing the same lullaby to me every night. She sang it over and over until I fell asleep. In my adult life, I just kind of forgot about it. When Kai was born I started singing it to him, sort of automatically. The first hundred or so times I sang it, I cried uncontrollably. I was finally able to hold it together ( Read more... ) -

As we were arriving home this evening, my neighbour gestured over the fence that she had a gift for Kai. I went inside and picked him up and brought him out and she gave him a bag of foil wrapped chocolates and a solid chocolate easter bunny. He was gracious and thanked her and we went inside. Kai and Thomas
Today Duff's mom and me took Kai to the Sony Centre for 'Thomas and Friends'. My God, 1500 happy two year olds. That's a bit overwhelming. Anyway, Kai loved it. It was great to see him so happy with what he was looking at and clapping and cheering. It was his first experience with live theatre and it was lovely ( Read more... ) -

Yesterday at the drop in centre, Kai stuck his hand down Elora's shirt. Today he said several times, "I put my hand down Elora's shirt yesterday!". He got to second base with a girl his own age. I'm so proud ( Read more... ) -
don't cry over spilled milk?
Kai yelled to us from the kitchen that he wanted milk in a cup. We called back that his sippy was in the living room and if he wants milk, he should come back in there. Cut to a few minutes later when I hear a splash sound. I race to the kitchen to discover that he's opened the fridge, taken out the milk, used a stool to get a cup and is standing ( Read more... ) -

Yesterday Kai told me it was time to wake up. Then he walked over to my bedside table and said while placing these items systematically on the bed beside my face said "here's your glasses mommy. Here's your hair tie mommy. Here's your phone mommy".
He rocks. -

Kai just climbed out of the crib and fell to the ceramic floor. :-(
