Kai and Thomas

Today Duff's mom and me took Kai to the Sony Centre for 'Thomas and Friends'. My God, 1500 happy two year olds. That's a bit overwhelming. Anyway, Kai loved it. It was great to see him so happy with what he was looking at and clapping and cheering. It was his first experience with live theatre and it was lovely ( Read more... )

Yeah, those "children entertainments" leave something to be desired from an adult standpoint - the cleverness the likes of the old Sesame Street skits which combined education and humour for adults & children seem to be rare indeed.

I personally detest Thomas the Tank Engine stories - they are all about disaster and punishment. There's no way to avoid accidents, there's no planning, no learning, there's little to no cooperation. I guess that's to be expected, given their author's viewpoint. There's way better stories now, though even with trains, such as Chuggington, but sadly there's no getting around the allure of Thomas.

It's so true. he loves thomas. but fortunately i think they grow out of it pretty quick. there wasn't a kid there over four.
