When he first woke up that morning, Roger had buried his face in Lavender's hair and tried to hide from the stripes of sun that were sneaking in through the curtains. Slowly, things had come back to him. Through the feelings of a hangover tugging at the edges of his awareness, Roger remembered celebrating with Lavender - giddy that the

There were butterflies in her stomach.
The ring caught the light and sparkled more than she realized any ring ever could.
"We're married and you're my husband now," she giggled, watching him, "And you got my favorite takeout for lunch. What a perfect day."

"Lily's coming later, by the way," he told Lavender, figuring he should get that out of the way. It was, after all, the biggest thing they needed to figure out, according to him.

Her stepdaughter.
Lavender squeezed his hand and nodded, a puff of laughter escaping her.
"And we'll have to tell her that I'm her step-mum-" she said, actually liking the way it sounded. She hoped Roger did too. "How do you think she'll take it?"

But that brought up another point. "I'll need to tell Maeve first. She should know before we tell Lily, and she's going to see that ring."

It even felt heavy on her finger, but in the best way. It was a constant reminder of the best thing in her life.
"How do you want to talk to them? Alone? Or should I be there now-"
It was going to take a little getting used to for Lavender, especially when it came to Lily. She was going to have to find a balance that made them both comfortable.

He had to actually give the method some thought. "I think I'll talk to Maeve alone." It was no secret that Maeve and Lavender still had problems - namely Lavender had a grudge and Maeve had insecurities."
"Then we'll tell Lily together?"

Lavender headed into the kitchen to grab plates and forks for them. Her stomach was starting to make uncomfortable noises now that she could smell lunch.
"I guess it's a good thing I know my way around-" she mused, glancing at him over her shoulder. "Since I should probably- you know, move in?"
Reply
"We'll get you fully moved in whenever you want." His voice was bright, more than a little excited about that part. They'd definitely done this backwards, but he wasn't complaining.

Though, she didn't feel guilty enough to not pack her bags and move in that very night. Lavender was fully prepared to start waking up every morning next to Roger (unless he decided he had a few last minute errands that needed running-).
"I don't have a lot of stuff, anyway. Well, I do. But I have plenty of charmed boxes to fit it all in. You won't even notice."

He didn't bother with plates, handing her a fork and pulling out the stools that pushed up against the kitchen island. That's when he realized he honestly didn't mind. Anything was fine with him. He had all he'd ever wanted. For the first time in years - the last moment being when he'd first laid eyes on Lily - Roger felt like his life was starting to make sense.

"It feels like there's so much to do, doesn't it?" she asked, the list already growing longer in her head.
It was one thing to break the news to their friends, but there were legal things to take care of as well. Was she going to change her last name?
Of course.
"Lavender Davies-" she breathed, mostly to herself.

He had a fork full of rice mostly to his mouth when he froze to grin at her words. "Do you think you'll change it?"

"Do you want me to?" she asked, tilting her head to once side. Her blonde hair spilled over her shoulder.

"I like the way it sounds. Lavender Davies," he repeated, a little dazed sounding. "But it's your name."
Reply
It sounded even better somehow when he said it. She wasn't going to skip out on the opportunity to introduce herself as Lavender Davies ever again.
"It's settled. We're so good at this, all these big important married life issues."
