Closed: Lavender - Did that happen? (Maeve & Lily later?)
When he first woke up that morning, Roger had buried his face in Lavender's hair and tried to hide from the stripes of sun that were sneaking in through the curtains. Slowly, things had come back to him. Through the feelings of a hangover tugging at the edges of his awareness, Roger remembered celebrating with Lavender - giddy that the conversations they'd had when they were younger regarding a future family could be a reality - and searching for the engagement ring he'd bought nearly a decade ago.
Then there had been a wedding. Had there actually....
Forcing his eyes open, he brought up his left hand to see a simply band made of yarn and twine on his third finger - the makeshift ring George had fashioned for them when their impulsiveness briefly caught up with them. They were married. Legitimately, married. Roger was smiling before he realized it, half tempted to wake Lavender just to kiss her.
Then it hit him that they'd jumped straight to getting married without any preparation. With a ring that was from when Roger had been scraping together with a sign-on bonus. And unless he'd gotten the day wrong - which rarely happened with him - Maeve would be over to drop off Lily sometime in the early afternoon.
Merlin, he had a lot to do.
He was quiet as he could manage as he rushed around to look at least less like he was doing a walk of shame and doubled back only long enough to leave a note on the kitchen counter.
