In the other room, Fate heard the familiar sound of door being open and closed and Albel moving around in the other room. That was good, really, that he was home, but trying to get up the courage to move and get back in the chair to go talk to him was difficult. Albel wasn't going to take well to his ultimatum, but if he didn't deliver it, Fate was going to go insane. It was time to put his foot down. The noises stopped and Fate sighed, having lost track of where the other man was in the apartment.

Summoning the willpower to move took a moment, but Fate was glad he did. Albel stood in the doorway, watching him. Fate couldn't discern the emotion on the other's face, but he didn't really care. For a moment, the blunette simply looked back at him, sad eyes taking in the features he'd somehow come to love. Almost three years of this... I must be insane. I'd be crazy to take anymore, no matter how I feel."Hi," he said quietly, not moving from the bed. Getting up would be a pain anyway. They needed to talk. Was it too soon to bring it up? ( ... )

Good. Fate was glad Albel had agreed to it. Maybe it was safe to bring everything up. Pulling himself into a sitting position against the pillows, Fate patted Albel's side of the bed. "Come and sit," he said. His eyes were intent on Albel's face. If could figure out what sort of mood the other was in, maybe it would be easier to tell him ( ... )

On second thought, maybe he should have let Albel go first. For a moment Fate thought the other was going to get angry, but he was happy, and perhaps a little proud of Albel when the other kept himself in check. Leaning back a little more against the pillow, Fate looked up at him, worried and curious. Albel had been holding this in for a long time, he thought.

Biting lip, Fate nodded. He'd be quiet and listen to the other. "Okay," he said. One of his smaller hands reached out to take Albel's. Maybe it would help the other speak more confidently if he knew that Fate wasn't going to snap and judge him for whatever it was. "I'm listening."

Quietly, Fate listened. That sounded terrible, really terrible. How could he convince Albel that he wasn't going to go away just because the other wished it? How could he show him that he wasn't going to leave? "Albel..." he murmured. His other hand lifted to cup the side of his lover's face. Had he done that selfishly, or to protect Fate? Well, if he'd truly wanted Fate to leave... wouldn't he have vanished ( ... )

Well, so what if he'd missed the point? At least he was trying! Fate was happy though, that Albel had shared that much with him. To him that was a perfectly good answer to his ultimatum. Albel was trying and that was the important part. He couldn't very well expect Fate to understand him perfectly if he hadn't opened up. There was only so much for him to go on. The bluenette hoped to keep learning new things about the other though, both the good and the bad ( ... )
