Express, huh?
Everyone was constantly telling him that. That he should express his feelings more, reveal his heart more, crack open and show all the gory details of his torn and bleeding soul...
...okay, maybe not that far. Even so...
"How do you do it?" he finally asked.
Actually, he really had no intention of asking such a question, and a rather retarded sounding one at that. It just... popped out of his mouth.

Her ... week. Her decade. Her LIFE. She hadn't been more happy to hear a question ever before. Why? Because-- well, because she could show someone how to express their deepest, purest emotions in a fun, beautiful way~
Giggling, she spun around once and beamed brightly. "You just open your heart, Kanda~ Open your heart, and everything will become so clear~ Just take a deep breath--" ...She took a deep breath, and slowly exhaled. "And slowly let it go. Just forget everything but you and your feelings, and let it all out~ It's really simple." The last sentence wasn't so much spoken as sung.
"Give it a try."

Was she honest-to-God singing?? Just took a random sentence and said it melodiously?
He should walk away. Walk away right now. Crazy people were not worth talking to. They were separate from basic society for a reason. Apparently, Rivelata had not caught up to that concept quite yet, and this girl in front of him was definite proof of that if he had doubted it. Who did she think she was, prancing about singing and dancing all merrily like the world was perfect? And then practically singing when she spoke? Who did that?
Then again, Kanda did ask, after all. Damn it.
And so, he remained rooted to the spot, and rolled his eyes. He had nothing else better to do this afternoon, and walking away from probably the only person who was willing to help him out right now was not going to solve his problems. At least, insane or not, she could give him some idea on how to deal with his situation.
At least, she had better hope she could ( ... )

She tapped at her chin once, then looked down to her animal friends and shrugged softly before looking back up at Kanda. "Wel, is there anything that might be making you.... Unhappy?"
She so very rarely used that word. It was such a sad word.

Yes, he could acknowledge that he was unhappy. He sure as hell wasn't content at the moment.
The only problem was that he couldn't exactly answer her question without telling her what was going on. Not that he had to elaborate details or anything, but his business was his business.
Then again, he did ask. And this was the consequence.
He walked a few feet away and sat down on a bench, folding his hands in his lap and trying to get his thoughts together. Confining in people was definitely not something he was used to. In fact, he wasn't even sure if he remembered confining in anyone at all.
"...my best friend," he finally began. "Well, he calls himself my best friend, but I'm starting to wonder if we even are friends much less... well, I don't know. He seems to want something from me, but I'm not sure what."
Well, that hadn't been as difficult as he thought it would be. How curious.
