Family visit and the Eclipse
As planned, my sister, Linnell, her oldest daughter, (my niece) Alida, and Alida's husband, Patrick arrived at my house just after noon. They had driven up from Queens, where Alida and Pat live. Snow storm & Death of the Fridge
Last Friday it became apparent that my refrigerator was no longer working as it should. Ice cubes were not freezing all the way through, and some items in the freezer were starting to thaw. Christmas by the Numbers
I spent the week before Christmas doing a lot of baking and cooking, much of it Christmas-related. Cards and packages got sent out with little time to spare, and the minimal Christmas shopping that I did was accomplished without setting foot in a mall.
